Akroyd's original treatment called for the vehicle to be a hearse, so I think it's a great fit.

It was more of a 'these chicks are equally, if not more funny than the loud brash' cast we're getting(which isn't the type of humor GB had anyway). They all just happen to be attractive.

Pretty much. Rashida Jones also beats the shit out of them w/ her acting too. If you want to go more "average" I'll take Amy Schumer too. I still can't tell if I like her or not. I've only seen a bit of her show but maybe I'm just not a fan of her format/style. Dunno.

Shiiiite. Sarah Silverman. Rashida Jones. Tina Fey. Amy Poehler. Kristen Schaal. Jenny Slate. Janeane Garofalo. Ellie Kemper. Aisha Tyler. A good amount more. Better than most of that cast. Wiig is the only one of the 4 that seems right but she's also one that can be totally wrong depending on how her character is written. She gets cornered into some shitty roles too.

Fuck all the whining. The public likes most of the women cast so deal with it. McCarthy in particular is loved by many.

The new Ecto-1 is okay. I'm glad that they're at least using an older style vehicle rather than trying to use something more modernized and hip. Not sure why they're continuing the stripe theme on everything. It doesn't look good on the uniforms or the vehicle in my opinion. The hazard stripe on the original Ecto-1 fit better.

Edit: I guess it looks like the bottom portion maybe isn't actually a stipe but part of the actual vehicle.

Ecto-1 looks good. Start up business, low budget

Because endless variations on "this will suck because fat chicks" makes for a stimulating debate.

Only 2 of the cast are fat... right? I know Wiig is skinny... i think one of the other white girls are thin too.

Yeah, but they still aren't hot enough to be the leads in a movie, apparently.

McKinnon is skinny, and is somewhat attractive to me. Either way, I'd like to think its more about the comedians and less about weight. If Kathy Griffin was a Ghostbuster, I'd hate it too.

Re: Ghostbusters - Female reboot (D: Feig, S: McCarthy, Wiig, Jones, McKinnon)

I find McKinnon attractive, too. And Wiig is decently attractive. Not sure who was complaining about fatties? And I find them funny in some of their stuff (many of wiig's characters on SNL were bad - Target lady, Gillie, etc)

McCarthy is ok, she has her hits and misses comedically.

But Jones. Good god, Jones. She has no timing, screams everything, has horrible material, and is a deer in headlights. Maybe a movie would fix that stuff, but I imagine they cast her just to yell some lines about being black and call it a day.

None of that has to do with her looks.

Re: Ghostbusters - Female reboot (D: Feig, S: McCarthy, Wiig, Jones, McKinnon)

for good comedy? McCarthy is a miss. She's mostly about being the fat joke. Damn career off of it. Not even good comedy. Just BS crap comedy that people love. Not the kind you want to promote for quality. But this is Sony. NVM.

Size has nothing to w/ it. Most of these women just aren't funny... or near damn the level the quality or visual diversity that would make the GBs stand out for the positive. They got the loud black woman? Wow. Great Stereotype. Fat Chick hampered by being fat. Wow. And then Wiig is a hit or miss. I know nothing about the other white chick.

There are over 1300 posts in this thread. Please point to one where this is either posted or implied. Just one.

The discussion is whether these four women are funny and or whether the type of humor they usually rely on is right for Ghostbusters. I don't see what the issue is with discussing it. We discussed Superman's underwear and John Williams' theme for two fucking years, I think discussing funny or unfunny cast members is at least a little deeper than that.

Do you feel those were about looks or their comedic talent?

McKinnon is hot, but sadly not a member of "our team."

I would have taken the cast of Broad City as the Ghostbusters as well. Hannibal and Abbi seem like they'd fit into a team of paranormal ghost busters.

I was quoted! I was quoted!

McKinnon and Wiig are marginally attractive and can be funny, McCarthy is a disgusting blob who is about as funny as ass cancer, and as for Terry Crews, I love him in those Old Spice commercials!

YES. Buress is hilarious in that show. Love that show. Love Illana. Crazy chicks...oh, yeah.

-------------------

There are so many better comedic actors that these 4 aside from Wiig are really low tier and safe for bringing back the GB. It would have been much cooler to have a mixed raced and gender group than just gender swap of people.

Only vaguely familiar with Wiig but I also posted, not that much later after the NSFW one about that pic (which is not good since Wiig herself looked wasted), but I hate McCarthy. She, and others as well apparently, think obnoxious = funny.

It's Feig. Seems like most of his shit survives w/ improv. And it's not even good improv. It's generic shit.
