Is it really that scary to have women in lead roles?

No, it's not scary. But it's unnecessary and about as ridiculous as an all male remake of "Fried Green Tomatoes" or "9 to 5." Bet those would go over well.

Yes, it reeked of "shitty movie." There is no comparing that crude shitfest to a classic from the early '80s.

It didn't reek of anything. This is a remake of what was essentially a guy comedy from the '80s with an all female cast, because, well, girl power. It's a gimmick. Do you think the studio execs sat down and truly believed this cast they assembled was far superior to any they could have assembled with male characters?
SO FUCKIN' WHAT?

They should remake Jaws with 3 women as the leads. I'd love to read those discussions here.

It's wholly unnecessary, that's why. There is no intention of making the best film possible. The whole intent is to be as politically correct as possible. Next up we'll have an all white remake of "Boyz N the Hood." Maybe we can have a remake of "Taxi Driver" with a female lead. Because, you know, women and men are exactly alike, and their roles are entirely interchangeable.

How short is the rest of the cast or how fucking tall is Jones?
Their suits look fine. Just most of that cast and the director... oooooof.

If they were remaking Taxi Driver, why would a female lead not work? Again, anything that has to be specifically male about that role?
I would argue that unless the part in the film is specifically about gender, roles are more or less interchangeable. Hollywood is slowly figuring that out.

I'm sure most of the people here have some sexism about the gender swap. I still look at it as a gimmick nature to it cuz that's all that they did so far. And apparently it was a big deal for them to do that. Whatever.
I see "feminism" brought up and I don't think many people here really get what that is and how this film, again based on the credits involved w/ the cast and director, hasn't "scream" that... yet.

I would be nice if the logo on the car wasn't interrupted by the trim on the car. Paint the logo over it!
Also, people are raving over these pics: http://zap2it.com/2015/07/female-gho...-photo-ecto-1/
Not sure why we're not raving in here too.

You seriously don't get why some Women and Girls would think this is cool?

Yeah, I guess I agree. They'll probably be just as excited for the female "Scarface" that is sure to begin production too.

If Jones is who I think she is she's funny as fuck. I hope they make this film Rated R. I believe she was in Top Five with Chris Rock and had me rollin' trashing Tracy Morgan.
