I watched Se7en and Memento yesterday, forgetting that Mark Boone Junior was in both. The most recent thing people probably remember him for is Flass in Batman Begins.

The guy being attacked in the flashbacks of the crime is Peter Sarsgaard.

How could you not recognize Gary Oldman? There is a flash back sequence where he is just himself....no make-up.

Well a guy who i didn't really notice the first time around was Viggo Mortensen in both Carlito's Way and The Prophecy. I don't think it was a case of not recognizing him, its just that at this point he was not as big a star.

Ted Levine (Buffalo Bill) as one of Hannah's detectives in <i>Heat.</i> Back when it first came out I kept saying "God, I know that voice." Still, hard to recognize him in it to this day.

Furthermore, he now plays Captain Stottlemeyer on Monk, which is pretty much a complete 180 from his role in Silence of the Lambs.

I was watching Bride of Chucky a few nights ago for the hell of it (haven't seen it in a while) and noticed that the female heroin in the movie is Katherine Hagiel aka Izzie Stevens on Grey's Anatomy.

Also, had Kazzam on in the background (yeah I know, movie sucks, but I liked it as a kid) and noticed that the main kid is Frances Capera who plays Weevil on Veronica Mars. Also another VM child actor, the one who plays Mac is also the annoying girl in Waterworld.

Yea, I didn't realize that until a couple years ago.
Also, one I just found out is that Donal Logue (Grounded for Life and the current The Knights of Prosperity TV shows) was the taxi driver on those old MTV promos!

First one that popped in my head was Billy Bob Thorton in Tombstone, and then Tom Cruise in Young Guns

I got a laundry list full of these people, but here's some of my favorites:

Yeardley "Lisa Simpson" Smith as a very annoying newlywed in Maximum Overdrive.

Nathan "Captain Mal Reynolds" Fillion as Minnesota Private Ryan and Paul Giamatti as Sergeant Hill in Saving Private Ryan.

Neil Flynn (the Janitor from Scrubs) playing an ill-fated policeman in The Fugitive (1993 movie).

Dennis Haysbert as one of De Niro's henchmen in Heat (that film has a lot of "I didn't realize that was him/her" moments).

That's what I was thinking. Another memorable role where you can't tell it's him is as the Republican senator in The Contender.

Also, as for Alfred Molina, I couldn't tell it was him in Boogie Nights

This was the basis for a very funny gag in an episode of Scrubs.

I rewatched Independence Day recently and never realized when I watched it before that the Alien Research Doctor was Lt. Commander Data from Star Trek.

Speaking of Star Trek, Red Forman (Kurtwood Smith) of That 70's Show as the Federation President in Star Trek VI.

"This President is not above the law, dumbass!"

The two that stand out the most for me were:

Martin Landau in Ed Wood . I guess I thought Lugosi was playing himself.

Cate Blanchett in The Shipping News Saw her in the credits but didn't recognize her in the film.

Or her in City Slickers as well. :lol:

The lady who played Lili Munster. I didn't realize she was the wife of Moses in the 10 Commandments. Just found that out when reading her bio.

Billy Zane in the first two Back to the Future films as well...

Ditto.

And I didn't recognize Thomas Jane in Magnolia (as a young Philip Baker Hall) either.

I love her in that role!!

What about Ted "Cheers/Becker" Danson in that same part of the movie. For some reason I still trip out about that because I never think of Danson as being a kickass soldier. But he's good in the short role.

2 films from yesterday:

Didn't realize it was Gillian Anderson for a few minutes in "The Last King of Scotland", and also finally figured out that Maribel Verdu (in Pan's Labyrinth) was the same actress who played a very sensual woman in "Y tu mama tambien".

As many times as I've seen it I've never noticed it. The only one I can think of right now: One of the two cops that chases Jake and Elwood in Blues Brothers through the mall would go on to play "X" (Mulder's informant in the second season) in the X-Files T.V. series.

I watched American Splendor a few times before realizing that the Nerd guy was that comedian who always wears a truckers hat and is on 30 rock now.

Another VM cast member! Jason Dohring, who plays Logan, is the guy in Deep Impact who told Elijah Wood that he was going to have lots of sex now that he was famous.

tobey maguire as the hitchhiker in Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas. took me a few viewings to figure out it was him. probably should have just watched the credits.

and wtf was with his high-pitched girly voice? oh wait, that's how he talks.

If you have access to the Criterion DVD give the Hunter S. Thompson Commentary a listen. It's hilarious listening to the female moderator trying to explain to Thompson who Tobey Maguire is and all the while listening to Thompson make fun of how dopey Maguire is. :up: Good stuff.

Jenna Fischer (Pam in the U.S. Office) was in episodes of Six Feet Under, That 70's Show, Spin City and Undeclared.

Just watched Heat again recently.

Never realized President Palmer (24) was in it. I like that actor.

I watched Remember the Titans recently and I forgot that the football obsessed daughter of the white coach is Hayden Panettiere (Claire) from "Heroes".

She was also the girl that Ally McBeal adopted in the last season of that show.
