King Kong trailer/teaser?
I saw a commercial over the weekend that during Fear Factor tonight, there will be the world premier of the King Kong trailer. Did anyone else see that? I wonder how long before it gets posted online?

Yea. I saw some really quick shots on Sci-Fi channel too. Aparently they're airing a little 'making of' for it. Didn't catch a date, though.
I'm very eager to see what it's going to look like like. Is it going to be a little stylish, like the Frighteners. Or is it going to have lots of big, long, epic, tracking shots like in Lord of the Rings?
Is it going to be like Scorsese making Goodfells, then The Age of Innocence (well, it would be Cape Fear, but I'm trying to convey a point here)? Or more like PT Anderson, sticking to the same style, making Boogie Nights then Magnolia?

...or maybe it's more like Coca-Cola replacing Coke with "New" Coke and then replacing "New" Coke with "Classic" Coke, which, at the end of the day, is really just....Coke.

My money is on epic, sweeping shots. I don't even know how else one would shoot a giant monkey.

This is actually a direct and downloadable link for the trailer teaser: http://media.themoviebox.net/movies/...kongpromo1.mov - can't wait for the trailer to go up tonight at volkswagen.com!
Oh and King Kong doesn't seem to be all that huge in the one little shot we get to see so far. He was pretty huge in the original and the remake.

Crap. I need to get home in time to see the HD version of this. I have my SD Tivo set to record, but I want the HD goodness.

Funny enough, this trailer didn't excite me nearly to the extent I thought it would. It's a great looking film judging from the trailer, but some of the effects look like they need quite a bit of work. Though it is early to be making a judgement on the effects work.
I'm sure it will be a good film though.

meh.
edit to clarify. if this were anybody but peter jackson, i would have no interest whatsoever. Kong looks too small and the look of the film is too sharp. I'm also not buying Jack Black at all from what I've seen so far.

Eh...not exactly what I was hoping for. I was hoping there'd be a filtered/washed out look esp in the NY scenes...rather than the saturated, pastel-colored feel. The villager/sacrifice stuff looks cool as I'd expected it to, but everything else I'm not too thrilled about.
