Thanks, didn't mention it in the trailer, he just referred to it as "an island" and I could't remember.

Which is sad, consisting that Spielberg was able to make a T-Rex look real over 10 years ago.
I too thought some of the effects were iffy. But it is still very early.

Everyone keeps saying that everything doesn't look real, but I think that is what they might be going for. All the Skull Island shots have a ultra-technicolor-realism thing going on that I was into. I noticed it first when the film crew hears the first huge roar and the camera panned from the right to left where Jack Black was. Everything just popped out and sparkled like it never would in real life.
And like other people have said, we still have six months and Jackson will probably tinker with it until the very last second. If it looks this good now, I cannot wait to see how it improves.
And was I the only one stoked to see Jamie Bell featured more than Brody in the trailer. I dig this kid more and more with each film.

Are they supposed to completely redesign the T-Rex every movie? So, we've seen one in Jurassic Park now no else is allowed to use them?
At worst, you could say it's slightly stylized.
Anyway, the size seems about right. The 1933 movie varied his size depending on the scene. This seems to be about the size he was most of the film, around 25 feet. If he was too big he'd tower over the T-rex.

i worked on this trailer. none of the fx shots you see are final. they were given a quick polish and determined "good enough" for a trailer. they will be improved for the feature.

I haven't found a non-.mov version yet, but on the KongIsKing website, they have a frame by frame breakdown of the trailer. Kind of neat.
IMHO, I am very psyched for this movie. The original was great. The 80's version, campy but fun and I guess good for its era. In hindsight I like the original much better than the 80s version.
I think I will like the new version a lot. Maybe strictly for a modern (technically) take on the 1930's version. Will I like it more than the original? Don't know, but I could see owning the DVD of both the original and this version, and not owning the 1980's version......
