I wonder if Fox wants to try and and make this into a franchise since it opened so well? That would be my guess and I am sure they will have the sequel involving
Spoiler:
the two of them possibly having a kid and more action sequences.

Fox is already a step ahead of you and you know after the numbers came in, a sequel was not only an option, it's a given.

So do you think they'll use all the deleted Keith David / Angela Bassett footage for the sequel, or wil they be part of the eventual SE dvd?

I'll have to go with Doomed this weekend. The Dark Knight will vanquish Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

I have no doubt about this heh. I'll netflix it when it comes out and wait for the SE to buy myself.

Yeah, seems I heard somewhere about them being the villains and that they decided they didn't need them. A similar thing happened with the villains played by Chris Cooper and Brian Cox in The Bourne Identity, except they didn't get totally excised. Guess Liman doesn't know how to play up villains.

Jack: how much of a chance is there of a Mr. and Mrs. Smith vs. Predator movie?

Seems like Fox takes the approach that was used back in the day of VHS. Instead of releasing it as priced only to rent tape and then priced to sale about a year after its release, put out a close to bare-bones DVD initially then a stoked-up one about a year after the theatrical release.

That approach is being taken by just about every big studio these days.

I saw it Tuesday and I totally loved it. I liked the chemistry, the jokes, , their bitchen house, Vince Vaughn, the action, and the ending although it kinda defied logic. .

Also, normally I'm not much of a fan of Jolie's looks but she looked damned incredible in this flick. Her lips, her hair, and her face were all looking great. She coulda used a few extra pounds though.

I've always been a huge fan of Keith David's acting and his voice so it was cool to see him in this movie. I thought I recognized the female Boss voice but I couldn't place it. Well, now I know.

Saw it today. Really enjoyed it. Great chemistry btwn Pitt and Angelina. Angelina was smokin' hot. No chick looks better shooting a gun. Great action - the car chase was awesome. Good comedy btwn the rocky marriage and Vince Vaughn. I will agree that the final shootout was a bit much though.

Can't wait for hopefully unrated DVD. Wouldn't mind seeing a sequel.

I doubt it. I think the idea of a Mr. & Mrs. Smith 2 is doomed.

I just got done watching this. I'm so glad I rented it because I hated this movie. What a trainwreck. Very slow. Total disaster.

I hope Doug Liman makes another "Go" type film and stay away from Blockbusters for a while.

I just saw it recently on a plane. Not very good. Pretty paint by numbers. Irony that these two ended up together and Vince Vaugh, who is also in the movie, got Jennifer Aniston.

An SE of this movie is a guarantee. This is Fox we're talking about here. Probably one of those All-Access Collector's Edition types like Man on Fire and I, Robot. Probably be an "unrated" cut with "sizzling new scenes" too.

This will either hit this summer, or not until the time the sequel hits theaters.

I have the feeling that Fox and other studios must have a spy in these boards that reports back to them to inform them how many suckers are out there willing to double dip on titles like this one.

They don't need to check out the boards, the general masses fall for these all the time. But hey, they have to make up somehow for the poor box office take ins.

I was thinking the same thing. I think the four of them went out one nite after shooting and got very drunk and ended in the same kingsize bed together . Then it backfired on Jen and Brad's relationship.

Just so i wont get sued that was a joke guys.

Okay Jack, I am sorry I started these stupid type threads about movies being "doomed" this past summer. You can stop the sarcasm...please! Unless you are talking about poor box-office take-ins in general, then I see your point. Mr. and Mrs. Smith did pretty good both domestically and internationally last I checked, but others did not.
