I know these threads are really old, but its probably worth it to bump them instead of making a new one again.

I can think of 3 trailers that have a special place in my heart.

1. Dawn of the Dead(78)....I was only 8 so when the, "No one under 18 allowed", tag was shown and the the crazy bald head guy image rising like sun it made me think that this was the scariest movie ever made.

2. ALIEN... I was 9 or 10 and the freaky egg and green light over the apple pie landscape scared the shit out of me.

3. ALIENS...This was the 1st kick ass trailer that really blew me away. It featured quick clips of actions scenes and the one scene that stuck in my head was when the airship was crashing end over end towards the marines after the Alien killed the pilot. After I saw it the 1st time I had to see ALIENS.

- Close Encounters of the Third Kind (teaser - incidently not on the Special Edition of the DVD)
- Blair Witch Project (the best trailer since it never showed any footage from the movie)
- Dirty Rotten Scoundrals
- Re-Animator
- The Dark Crystal

The teaser trailer for "Lethal Weapon 2' (Murtagh & Riggs bathroom bomb scene).

The teaser trailer for "Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade" (behind the scenes footage...Harrison's hat keeps coming off and he staples it to his head)

The theatrical trailer for "Star Trek VI" (Kirk gets phasered? Oh no!!!)

BTW, the online-only trailer (not the theatrical one) for "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" is REALLY funny.

Phantom Menace teaser. The first time I saw Maul ignite that second lightsaber blade, I lost it.

Anyone have the Episode 1 Trailer with the crowd reaction? That'd be really cool to see.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (starts as a cartoon and morphs into a trailer)
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (starts as an commmercial and turns into a trailer)

Alfred Hitchcock used to appear in his trailers describing the movies. The ones he did for Psycho, The Birds and Frenzy were really good.

Too bad a bunch of other films in the same time frame tried a similar approach.

SW:TPM- couldn't get it out of my head for a long time. It was everything I wanted to see in a SW movie. The actual movie....

The teasers for Godzilla were great, but the movie, well, let's not talk about it!

This was a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away (Irvine actually, in whatever year the movie hit). I know i have this on disc somewhere and i'll have it uploaded once i find it as early as tonight as long as it's where i think it is. I really think it brought the 'net to it's knees when it started doing the rounds.

I loved the re-release trailer for Star Wars: Special Edition that was showing in fall 1996.

Ah yes, the one where the X-Wing starts off in a small tv screen and then flies out of it? I love that one.
