I too didn't like how the Jedi were bested by a bunch of droids... In the Clone Wars cartoon, Mace Windu obliterates an entire armada of droids single handedly... Some consistency would be nice.

Seeing that vader could deflect blaster bolts by his hand, I would think the Jedi would know this trick as well - being that it is a defensive and not offensive force power.

Wouldn't several jedi have attacked Dooku right off the bat to prevent him from escaping if that was so important? Why did only one Jedi take him on? And why did that Jedi get shot down so easily by Jango?

So indeed, this scene, though still cool, has a lot of strangeness to it.

Hmm... It's kinda fun complaining about star wars!

Luke: You have that power, too. In time, you'll learn to use it as I have. The Force is strong in my family. My father had it, I have it...and my sister has it. Yes, it's you, Leia.

Leia: I know. Somehow, I've always known.
Okay . . . I have to correct myself a little bit here. I caught the last part Four Weddings And A Funeral on TV this weekend and I think that Andie MacDowell's painful utterence of "Is it still raining? I hadn't noticed." may tie . . . if not beat out . . . the Leia quote.

What a testament to the movies that they get their own thread dedicated to hating it.

P.S. I think an "I hate Jar Jar" thread would be much more fun.

Sigh... I just don't get you Cygnet... Maybe we should change this to the 'movie I haven't seen but I have decided to hate anyways' thread.

more shit dialogue...
Grievous is a full-on archetypal villian. That dialogue fits perfectly. It will depend on the delivery. If the delivery is good, nobody will give a rat's ass. There are far worse lines in the original trilogy. But then the disgruntled fans seem to have completely forgotten that this is Star Wars, not Shakespeare or Citizen Kane. It's not wonder some can't or won't allow themselves to try and enjoy the films.

Then again, I have to wonder if the cynical and jaded would have hated the originals before seeing them, had they learned of this dialogue, and at least a half dozen other lines.

"Good. Our first catch of the day."

"You half-witted, stuck up, scruffy looking nerfherder."

just because he's an archetype doesn't mean he needs to play to tired clichés. and yes, I havent seen the film yet, but I'm commenting on a line of dialogue that reads like it will be followed by diabolical laughter. Mwuuuhahaha!!!

if we can speculate about the things we expect to admire, why cant we also speculate about the things we expect to dislike? btw, on the page "scruffy lookin' nerfherder" and "who's scruffy lookin'?" is inspired and silly and damn amusing, imo. no way carrie fisher could have blown that line.

why dont you guys take issue with Dr. DVD's post in the OAO SPOILER thread? after all, he expressed the same sentiments.

FYI, there's a new SW talkback over at AICN, which means more hilarious diatribes to read. A quick gem: "When the Special editions came out I relished seeing them on the big screen again - though by this time the rot, in my opinion, had begun to creep in! Mos Eisley was immediately transformed from a 'wretched hive of scum and villainy' to toontown with the 'hilarious' comedy Jawas and aliens taking a dump on the street."

None of the Star Wars movies have had good dialogue; why should the upcoming one break that trend?

Terrell, how many times are you going to argue points here after saying you were leaving the thread for the haters (which is the entire point of it's existence).
