Just about any film with "Return To..." in the title.

I'll add The Philadelphia Experiment II to the list.

"Return To Oz" (1986) falls into it that category then? Or is that more of an update than a sequel?
I believe the girl who played Dorothy in the film also played Mildred in the 1986 film version of The Worst Witch.

Police Academy 2 through....whatever number the last movie was!

About Starship Troopers 2.....I loved the original! It's one of my all time favorites and I was looking forward to a sequel....however Starship Troopers 2 was so-so and could have been better.
Maybe one of these days we will get a true sequel to Starship Troopers!!

Take care all!!

unless proffesional 2 is
Spoiler:
a spinoff with Matilda, it wouldn't be possible

That would make for a great flick. Give NP another 10 years or so and I think it would work. I wouldn't want a "teen in training" type film. One on par with the first, where NP would already be at the top of her game.

As far as I'm concerned, Return To Oz is a classic. An underappreciated, almost always overlooked classic.

The upcoming Ray II: Eye See You is totally not needed!

For me...
Blair Witch 2 (or even the first one!)
Robocop 3 (at least the second was tolerable)
Starship Troopers 2
Wild Things 2 and 3
Cruel Intentions 2 and 3
Major League 3 (although I kind of like it)
NeverEnding Story 2 and 3
Sandlot 2 (absolutely ridiculous that they made this. Might as well make a Goonies 2)
Dumb and Dumberer (prequel but one of the worst movies ever)
Matrix Revolutions (the first were good but this was crap)
Austin Powers in Goldmember (not one single original joke in this movie. All previous jokes from the first two movies. Still it's hard to not like Austin Powers)

Upcoming Sequels:
Butterfly Effect 2
Mrs. Doubtfire 2
Legend of Zorro (come on! It's PG!)

Speaking of Weekend at Bernie's 2 and the Whole Ten Yards, I liked those movies!

With movies like Butterfly Effect 2 and Mrs. Doubtfire 2 why not just make Forrest Gump 2 and Braveheart 2? It's getting ridiculous. Some of these movies I'd have never thought a sequel would have been possible.

Garfield 2. No-one wanted the first one either.

Hollow Man 2

Sony Pictures’ HOLLOW MAN 2 began shooting in Vancouver a couple of weeks ago, with Christian (HEATHERS) Slater, Laura Regan (from THEY and MY LITTLE EYE) and William (SLITHER) MacDonald toplining. In the sequel, directed by Claudio Fäh from a script by Dimension Films’ direct-to-video king Joel Soisson (see review of his two new PROPHECY sequels here). Slater stars as a volunteer soldier/assassin who goes mad after he turns invisible. But unlike in the first film directed by Paul Verhoeven and starring Kevin Bacon, the latest Hollow Man faces an invisible protagonist this time, a cop trying to protect the story’s heroine (Regan). —Fangoria

Almost any sequel with the exceptions:

The Empire Strikes Back
Godfather, Part 2
Aliens
Terminator 2
Superman II
Lord of the Rings (if you count TTT & ROTK)

Other than that, they are usually rehashes of the first movie, and not nearly as original.

Hellraiser sequels. Seems like there are DTV (direct to video) sequels every two months. When will it end?

I'll take up to III, but once they went DTV

This also applies to the Christopher Walken-less Prophecy flicks

Rocky V. I'm a sucker for the Russian, or they could've stopped at III.
