I don't think John Byrne has liked anything made after 1987 or so.

Kiersey Clemons to Star in 'The Flash' Movie (Exclusive)
MARCH 11, 2021 9:31AM by Tatiana Siegel

Kiersey Clemons has closed a deal to star opposite Ezra Miller in Warner Bros.' DC movie The Flash.

The actress will reprise her role as Iris West, the romantic interest of Barry Allen, aka The Flash. Clemons portrayed the intrepid reporter West in Justice League but her role was cut by director Zack Snyder back in 2017 before he turned the film over to Joss Whedon.
Snyder added her character back in recently for his upcoming cut, which debuts on HBO Max on March 18.

Michael Keaton — who is no stranger to the DC universe, having starred as the Caped Crusader in Tim Burton's Batman movies — will reprise the character for the film, which will begin shooting in London in April. The Flash, which is DC's latest stand-alone film, joining Wonder Woman and Aquaman, is scheduled to open on Nov. 4, 2022.

It director Andy Muschietti is helming from a screenplay written by Christina Hodson. Barbara Muschietti and Michael Disco are producing, while Marianne Jenkins is serving as executive producer. Plot details are being kept under wraps. In the comics, Allen and West grew up together after Allen's mother was killed, and his father was blamed for the murder. They eventually marry, and they frequently work together to neutralize villains.

After starring in a series of Sundance breakouts including Dope and Hearts Beat Loud, Clemons segued to major studio fare with Disney’s most recent iteration of Lady and the Tramp. Other credits include Amazon’s The Only Living Boy in New York and Universal's Sweetheart.

She is repped by UTA, Range and the law firm Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

I caught that too, but are we sure? I know the studio demanded changes before Snyder stepped down. So I thought that might've been something that was compromised on while he was still on the project.

She's cute as hell in the JLA trailer.

He liked Masters of the Universe with Dolph Lundgren as the best Jack Kirby's Fourth World movie ever made. For real.

But then that came out in 1987, so you theory stands.

re: The Flash (2023, D: Muschietti) - S: Miller, Keaton and Affleck

https://deadline.com/2021/03/michael...ew-1234719059/

So according to this interview Keaton did with Deadline, he doesn't sound 100% certain who will work on this movie. He's concerned with the COVID situation in the UK

DEADLINE: Reports have you putting on the Batsuit again for The Flash. Why?

KEATON: He asks, with three exclamation points and three question marks. Well, now that you put it that way, maybe you’re right. Jesus, what am I thinking about?
DEADLINE: To take the focus off you playing Batman again?

KEATON: That’s right. No, you know what it is? I am needing a minute to think about it because I’m so fortunate and blessed, I got so much going on now. I’m really into work right now. I don’t know why, but I am, and so, yeah, I mean, you know, to tell you the truth, somewhere on my iPad is an iteration of the whole Flash thing that I haven’t had time yet…I called them and said, I have to be honest with you. I can’t look at anything right now. I’m so deep into this thing I’m doing. Also, I’m prepping a thing I’m producing and getting ready to do down the road in the fall that I’ll be in, and I feel responsible to that. So, yeah, there is that. I’m not being cute or coy. If I talked about it, I’ll be just bullshitting you. I don’t really know. I have to look at the last draft. To be honest with you, you know what worries me more than anything about all this stuff?

DEADLINE: What?

KEATON: It’s Covid. I’m more concerned. I keep my eye more on the Covid situation in the UK than anything. That will determine everything, and so that’s why I’m living outside the city here on 17 acres, staying away from everybody, because the Covid thing has got me really concerned. So, that’s my first thing about all projects. I look at it and go, is this thing going to kill me, literally? And you know, if it doesn’t, then we talk.

At this point, I'm going with "none of this will happen". Cause....WB.

If you didn’t bother reading the link, Crudup had to drop out because he’s still filming The Morning Show and his schedule didn’t work with The Flash’s shooting schedule.

Yeah, I read. And I still say something will happen and this won't come to fruition.

They have already started filming in Canada. They’ve been in production for a few weeks now.

Yeah, Morning Show is more important than this though. Crudup did win an Emmy for season 1. He's the best part of Morning Show - a motherfucking snake in the grass.

Crudup is a series regular and one of the leads on The Morning Show. That’s going to take priority over his minimal screen time on this.

I was hoping for Bruce Campbell. Crudup in Justice League looked sort of like him.

I hope Keaton still will be in this. I understand his concerns, but that’s really going to be a bummer if he drops out of the film.

If he drops out, they can get either Val Kilmer or George Clooney.

Michael Keaton’s talent agency, ICM Partners, has confirmed the actor will return as Batman in “The Flash.”

Great news about Keaton. I’m less excited about this being a Flash movie and far more excited to see Keaton back as his version of Bruce/Batman.

DCU crap aside, I am really hoping this one delivers. Seeing the 89 Batman logo like this is dammed exciting for me.

The more I look at that picture it seems inspired by the Batman Returns suit, but it looks modified. Almost looks like there’s some straps or something that go up towards the neck/cowl. Super stoked to see a full Keaton Batman reveal.
