At any rate, looks like maybe it incorporates elements of both Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2, and seems to be a serious film (no humor as seen in ED2 or AoD).

I'm actually digging this a good amount. It's a lot of what we know but updated...and it looks like it was updated very well. I love ED1 and ED2 (especially ED2)..but I like that they're going for a serious route on this...should be interesting to see what this will be like.

Well, shit... consider me surprised. That footage looked pretty damn awesome; I can't lie.

My only concerns now are Diablo Cody's revisions to the script, and that I still hate how every teen looks like they just came out of a photo shoot for Vogue (although this looks to remedy their looks real fast).

Great trailer! It looks fucking nasty especially the tongue and knife bit at the end. Can't wait now.

Ok ok I saw the trailer and liked it. That was nice...it had that evil dead madness.

Why is that? I'm only asking because I pretty sure the orginial was full of craptastic dialouge.

Pretty sure, or positive? Because I don't recall the Evil Dead sounding like Juno, which is, again, a major concern of mine. I can already imagine the excessive snark, the pop culture references none of these kids would probably know, the cutesy phrases shared amongst friends and lovers that make me want to punch them... Cody has a knack for writing people who only sound like "cool" caricatures, not actual people.

But I'll just sit here quietly until it arrives and hope she learned her lesson from the hate Juno received. I'm talking fanboy internet hate, not the lavish praise heaped upon it by 'Merica and Oscar cronies.

Looks better than I expected.

The gore looks awesome and I love the homage to an iconic scene from Evil Dead 2. Didn't care for the acting, however. But then Bruce Campbell gave the only worthwhile performance in the original so it's a moot point.

Hey guys! Don't have a lot of time here. Mom's yelling at me, telling me lunch is ready.
So, I'm only going to spend seven minutes saying "Fuck the new Evil Dead remake."

I can't access the trailer but if I am reading the above posts correctly, the humor is gone from the series? From someone who feels Army of Darkness is BY FAR the best in the series and it is due to the cheesy situations and corny one-liners, I don't think this will appeal to me. I didn’t care for the first evil dead, thought the second one was good during the humorous moments and think Army is genius. I also didn’t care for Drag Me to Hell and that it is very overrated. From the people who have seen footage, is it definitely closer to Drag Me than Army in tone?

It looks unremittingly dark, evil, and sadistic.

I'd say the humor will be minimal, at best.

See for me AoD is the weakest because I didn't feel like my hero was in danger most of the time. ED2 for me is perfect. Also Raimi intended to do a very serious film to begin with on ED didn't he? It didn't really end up that way cuz of budget and whatever...the concept is interesting...and going serious w/ it is kind of exciting for me. And the trailer really gives me a lot of what I would want. Soooooo....it's pretty cool to me.
