That has to be the best damn trailer I've ever seen. I'm so pumped up from it that I want to go out and kick someones ass........for the greater good of course.

There is no doubt in my mind Brandon Routh is gonna do an excellent performance he is so perfect for the role. He is handsome, tall, I got no complaints seeing him in the red and blue costume. I love Christopher Reeves he will always be the best damn Superman I ever seen. I will never forget his charm as Superman and his quirky manners as Clark Kent.
I cannot wait for June! Superman will fly again I'm excited.

Love the teaser! The majestic Williams music...Brando's inspiring voiceover...the foreign images mixed in with traditional shots...the very brief glimpses of SUPERMAN himself...What more could a fanboy want?

I'm really pumped for this flick, If that trailer doesn't get your adrenaline flowing you may want to check your pluse
- I may even have to go to theater to check it out
I've never really been big into these types of movies (thought both Spiderman movies sucked, the X-men films were decent, The Hulk was terrible, etc.....) until I saw Batman Begins which is now a movie that I constantly watch.
When done right, these types of films hit you hard and let you experience things on a different level. I hope this film follows the same path as Batman Begins.

A few things here.
1: Let's all remember 'Batman Begins', for the most part, the teaser wasn't exactly great and didn't show just how great that movie would end up being.
2: It is a teaser, not a trailer. There is a distinct difference.
3: It wasn't the best edited teaser ever. Why? There was a few scenes that really lessened the impact of the overall teaser. One scene that stands out in my mind is the one with Kal-El on the rooftop walkin' towards Lois. First off, it doesn't fit in with the rest of the teaser. Second, it seemed to dark, you couldn't even really see Lois or a clear shot of Superman / Kal-El. Finally, it shows the hero all too soon. It would of been better if you never saw him, until the very end where the camera circles him. That gives it some kind of emotional impact. A build up.
4: No one will ever forget Christopher Reeve. He will always be Superman to the public and that is a big hurdle for Singer and his crew. It's a hurdle that is only make harder when you connect the films with the original's score and even a Brando voice over. Yes, it was great and emotional, but it was emotional for the wrong reasons. It brings back memories of the original film and the main part of the original film, Reeve's Superman.

From: "Are any of us really anywhere?"
"Superman Returns" preview trailer..is it me or does it look a lot like "Smallville"?
It had such a hokey tv feel to it. Each scene looked like something that had been done already in the "Smallville" tv show (which I love, but for one of the biggest movies of '06?).
What is everyone else's take...

In order for Superman to be built with lots of muscles his workouts must consist of lifting a planet..about 12x reps? lol

For point 4: I do agree with you that it will be a hard task to get people to focus on "the new guy" but involving the originals music and the voice over would actually help people take an interest to the new Superman.
Please note that I am not a fanboy and I know you have your own tastes but It seems like you are being a little bit too picky about this.

For point 3: How doesn't the scene fit in with the rest of the trailer? Lois Lane is a huge part of these films and most people want to know if she will be in the movie. I saw both of them just fine in the trailer. I also disagree with not showing him at all until the end but of course that's all matter of opinion.

I did hear a lot of people whisper stuff like:"they should have waited," and not so favorable comments. It's not that they disliked the teaser itself, they just disliked the notion of a Superman movie without Reeve.
Face it, Christopher Reeve WAS Superman to a lot of people, and he cannot be replaced for them.

The main problem is this.
Reeve embodied the role. In most people's mind, there is no replacing him. It just cannot happen. It isn't like Bale replacin' the previous Batman actors.

yeah.... if you look at the comics.... superman never went on a diet.... how about just making Bronson Pinchot superman......... or make Ben Stiller....
In the comics... superman had big muscles and was bulky.. forget reeves... just look at the comics.
