It's not bad acting its an independent film.
or
It's an independent film, it has to be good.
or
Look they tried something different and it's an independent film after all.
That is why it good reviews.

Ahh... yes the Hollywood "machine" hard at work. See this "machine" was made to make you "believe" anything and everything is always the best they've ever made, all the gears big and small humming along to the same greasy beat. Well my friends I'm not buying what they're selling, I have had enough!
Now who the hell did I loan my copy of Hulk to!?!

You've all got it completely wrong. "Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2" is the WORST movie of all time. I am still in therapy from the emotional damage this movie caused me. I went and saw it, of my own free will, but that's no excuse.

The biggest problem being the not realizing Daniel was dead. Poor job of getting this point across. Seeing how not twenty minutes before they showed them both sleeping in the exact pose that he has when he was dead.

My biggest praise? The ending. I love any movie that goes against the happy go lucky Hollywood ending. I thought it was perfect having her choose her fate, especially the one she chose. Brilliant.

My two cents are that Open Water gave an intelligent depiction of a story, unlike the non-stop shoot 'em up kill 'em a'la godlike style that you can see in Resident Evil: Apocalypse. But then again, some do not like the world we live in, and must escape. Whatever your cup of tea is, good for you, and more power to you.
My review of Open Water.

Hauntingly Lingering as the Horror Below the Surface Stalks
I really liked this film as it made me feel alive through the terror it caused. - 9/10.
My review of Open Water
PS. I once had an underwater experience with a 8 foot bullshark while diving in the Keys. This followed by me getting into the boat quickly.

Well, I wouldn't let the OP get any feathers ruffled. He's made 9 posts in almost 2.5 years. Maybe he doesn't watch too many movies

Before this thread gets moved to the Movie forum, I'll throw in that I didn't like it too much. I saw it in the theater and after the initial setup, I just wanted to see how it was going to end. It became a "showcase" of these two amateur actors acting out different emotions (sort of like The Breakfast Club). Once you know the outcome, I can't imagine wanting to see it again, so I'd never own the DVD. It was, however, far from the worst movie I've ever seen. I'd have to go with Ted V. Mikelson's "Worm Eaters" at the worst movie ever.

I saw Open Water at the theater too on a date. I usually have a short attention span, but the movie kept me rivited. It had a documentary feel to it with the water splashing on the camera lens and shot with the soft lens...plus there was that great nude scene with bush!
However, I didn't like the movie and couldn't understand how and what happens to the couple. After talking to a married friend she told me it was totally understandable what the female lead did to him at the end.
