Since the OST for Girl Next Door sucks (I don't think it even has Queen on it), here is a link to ALL of the songs in the movie. Some great songs!

Great movie. I saw this weekend for the first time along with Shaolin Soccer, and it was the best 2 rental choices I've made in a long time.

And yes, Elisha Cuthebert is very nice to look at.

Watched it with a friend and my wife and we all really liked it, esp. considering it has a fairly original plot for this type of movie (meaning not the obvious happens each time). I'll pick this one up used from a video store one day...

Although it had maybe the worst marketing campaign ever, it was actually a halfway decent movie although I agree it loses steam in the final half hour or so. The guy who played the pimp/gangster Kelly was just great IMHO.

Great film. Well-acted, well-paced, entertaining, great use of suspense. Yes, Elisha Cuthbert is amazing.
Some parts of the ending were pretty strained, and the package wraps up far too neatly to be satisfying. But I can forgive that, because the film has heart.

(Oh, and Timothy Olyphant (sp?) was hilarious.)

I dont care that Elisha doesn't get naked. Sung Hi Lee does and all that matters! This movie was cool. Bits and pieces of it reminded me of all those 80s movies that came out over and over about high school.
The guy who played Kelly was freakin hilarious.
The Q&A at the end with Eli was the best part

Just watched this movie over Labor Day weekend, and I loved it.
It is now among the best teen/coming of age movies that I've ever seen. Though one could definitely draw similarities to the classic, Risky Business, The Girl Next Door nicely updates the story along with an addition of new twists to keep viewers guessing.
Five minutes into the movie, I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't going to be what I was expecting and in fact was going to be different from the slew of American Pie knockoffs that's come out in the past few years. By the end of the first act,
I was hooked.
Everyone was well cast, IMO, and turned in great performances. Timothy Olyphant gave an especially impressive performance. And yes, count me among those who are now smitten with Elisha Cuthbert.
Funny, touching, and smart. Highly recommended.

I am watching it tonight. I got to meet Elisha last year at a function for the show 24. Talked to her a bit afterwards. It was difficult to listen to the other cast members with such a beauty nearby.
Hopefully she can land a role to help her break out of the flavor of the month. Marco

Saw this a while ago, but I remember thinking up until 2/3rds of the way through that it was almost a direct remake of Risky Business. This movie wasn't bad and was at least interesting in what it was trying to do. I don't know that it's really successful in elevating itself out of the "teen movie" genre, though.
Timothy Olyphant was great. I don't know why that guy doesn't get more work.

Funny this thread is up again, I too just saw it for the first time the other day. Pleasantly surprised at just how good it was. I actually laughed out loud when the kid was on X and touched the guy's tie during the banquet.
Also, AWESOME soundtrack. This movie was really mismarketed, they should've gone after the Ghost World audience, not the American Pie audience.

I also agree with the rest of you on this movie...This movie suprisingly caught me off guard. For some reason I was hooked after Elisha's first appearance in the movie...And also for some reason, I could not get this movie out of my head after I watched it.
Great blind buy and a great addition to my collection!

Couldn't agree more on the soundtrack. Although the retail "soundtrack" to the movie left out a lot of the songs used in the movie. Here's a (nearly) complete list of all the songs:
David Bowie/Queen "Under Pressure"
Elliott Smith "Angeles"
Echo & the Bunnymen "The Killing Moon"
Harry Nilsson "Jump Into The Fire"
Thunderclap Newman "Something In The Air"
Filter "Take A Picture"
Overseer "Slayed"
Dilated Peoples "No Retreat"
David Gray "This Year's Love"
Sloan "If It Feels Good Do It"
Fantastic Plastic Machine "Electric Lady Land"
Porno Sonic "Dick Dagger's Theme"
Satchel "Suffering"
Youth of Today "Break Down The Walls"
Monster Magnet "Dopes to Infinity"
Sneaker Pimps "Spin Spin Sugar"
Pepe Deluxe "Big Muff"
Red House Painters "Song For A Blue Guitar"
2 Unlimited "Twilight Zone"
Methods of Mayhem "Get Naked"
Looper "Mondo `77"
Ralph Myerz "Think Twice"
B.G. The Prince Of Rap "This Beat Is Hot"
Pete Yorn "Turn of the Century"
James Gang "Funk #49"
LaBelle "Lady Marmalade"
Mogwai "Christmas Song"
Lynyrd Skynyrd "Sweet Home Alabama"
Marvin Gaye "What's Going On?"
Muddy Waters "(I'm Your) Hoochie Coochie Man"
Groove Armada "Purple Haze"
N.E.R.D. "Lapdance"
The Verve "Lucky Man"
Josh Rouse "Sparrows Over Birminghan"
Donovan "Atlantis"
The Who "Baba O'Riley"
Binocular "Maybe You're Gone"
Alastair Binks "One Fine Day"
This Year's Love by David Gray is the definite standout. This song plays during the part where

i enjoyed the first 30-40 minutes of this movie. Until after the hotel room scene. Then the movie became a complete mess. Kelly was in the part of the movie i hated but he was still funny as hell. Elisha Culbert should not play a porn star unless she is willing to get naked. I hate when movie do that. Still there were some decent shots of her skantily clad. overall a disappointment because i enjoyed the first 30 minutes so much other wise a typical teen comedy.

Maybe it was just the mood I was in, but I found this movie to be dreadfully unfunny. I didn't really care for the main character, and I really hated his friends. The only saving grace was the eye candy, IMO.

Name of a song in Girl Next Door
I was wondering if someone could help me out with a name of a song in Girl Next Door.
Its playing right as they enter the prom ( The 3 guys and the porn stars walking through the blue curtain beads)
Something like "I'm an Outlaw ... " etc.
Thanks.
