I dunno why they're considering that to be *new* news about JG. I think the fact
has been in it since the beginning. maybe they're trying to make it happen even faster?

About the trailer.....I guess that is one Kevin Smith movie I won't be seeing. What a joke.

I'm a really big Smith fan, I post on his borad and I've been to a Vulgarthon... but I'm not sure about this one.
Oh, you should have seen the abuse in the posts when Jennifer Lopez got involved in the film... my opinion is, whatever. Lopez was damn good in Out Of Sight, and there's no reason why she wouldn't be good in this one.
Besides, I've heard only a few reviews so far. One was bad. We'll see how it turns out.

Looks just like every other movie out there. Sadly, it'll probably be his biggest hit because of that (although they should play up the Affleck/Liv Tyler thing and the father/daughter angle and downplay J-Lo).

I think the trailer is trying to sell it as a romanitc comedy type movie, and not a kevin smith movie. I'm sure it will have jokes like that in it though.
The joke with the kids asking if he plans to marry his daughter seems like a cosby joke.
But I have faith in smith, and his personal stories are usually the best, and a trailer doesnt mean anything so I'm planning on seeing it.

It doesn't seem that bad, I will still check it out being a fan of Smith's. It does seem like Lopez will not be the focus from that trailer. Not that I mind her, but I just don't think she has been that great in films since becoming a pop star.

I'm interested in seeing this. The only thing that bothered me was the abscense of George Carlin from the trailer. From the way Smith was talking during production, it seemed that Carlin had a very sizible role. I hope he didn't get whittled down to nothing during the editing.

wow.
another trailer that seems to give away the ENTIRE plot of the movie..
I was at the beginning...until Jen left*...
After that, it looks kinda interesting..i'll probably check it out..
* [not a slam. like DonnachaOne, I felt Out Of Sight kicked MUCH ass & I try real hard to separate the media crap from what actual talent she might have..]

Smith has said the test scores from the screening were extremely high. And for good reason. They only wanted non-Kevin Smith fans into the screening. My friend and I were separated from the others because we marked "Kevin Smith" as a reason for wanting to attend the screening on a prelim questionaire. They finally let us in along with a few others they had deemed "Kevin Smith Fans".
The movie itself was okay. Don't expect any outrageous shenanigans. Kevin Smith plays it straight. That said, I do hope the movie does well for Kevin. I may go see it just to see if any changes were made. It'll be interesting to see how well the movie does.

It's worth pointing out; this is NOT the official trailer. Kevin's posted on the board tonight after the trailer was leaked. Miramax made this from shot footage to show at ShoWest (which is why it says "Now In Production", though the film has wrapped shooting).
Apparently, the reception for it was pretty good. Here's hoping the film holds up.

I'll see it because it's a Smith flick... but I hope Affleck does a decent job in the movie. But what do I know, Affleck was the BOMB in Phantoms yo.

As juvenile as it sounds, I like Kevin Smith movies because they are raunchy, vulgar, and childish. I am one of the few Kevin Smith fans that lists Chasing Amy as their least favorite flick. This movie just isn't my type, so I feel no obligation to see it. So shoot me.
