What Does Everyone Think of "Wrong Turn"
#27
I must be watching different channels, because I've seen an enormous amount of promotion for this over the past month. It's been a while since I've seen a solid horror picture. Hopefully Wrong Turn can match some of the hype it's been getting on this front.

I might have to try and sneak into this one. Anything for Eliza!
Shame she doesn't get better roles though.

If this is a legit horror, then I think it might have been better off had they waited to release it around Halloween. Having a hard-core horror movie come out against something like Finding Nemo will prove fatal I fear, no matter how good it might be.
That said, I also fear comparisons to House of 1000 Corpses is inevitable. (I liked Zombie's flick, but a lot of people didn't.)

Eliza Dushku shows more skin in Wrong Turn than ever before. There are five scenes where she is totally nude.

Nice! I'm gonna need to run to the bathroom five times during the movie!
On second thought, I believe I read a quote from Eliza herself on some fansite where she vowed she'd never "show everything" in a movie. IIRC her wording was "You have a better chance of seeing God than seeing me do that." Well, personally I have seen God - He's a tad younger, but much taller than you'd think - so this doesn't really apply to me. But for the rest of humanity it evidently indicates that the probability of seeing her bare all is effectively zero.

Moving to mature. I hope this is right. But I dont think it is.
MPAA: Rated R for strong violence and gore, some language and drug use.

I will see it, since I have a huge weakness for horror films. However, I never seem to learn my lesson that most horror films are rather bad. I will not say what I think now, since I have not seen the trailer and I try to avoid trailers. (I even close my eyes and stuff my ears in the theater during the trailer.)

I watched it this afternoon, and I must say it is an above average horror flick. The story isn't very original by any means, but it moves quick (about 82 mins without trailers), and has some excellent gore.
Nope unfortunatley there is no nudity (Dushku or otherwise).

From a Fangoria article:
And then there was this incident with the poison ivy. "I got the worst poison ivy of anyone," she explains, and [having grown] up in Boston, the first day on set I said, 'Guys, that thing there--bad news!' I was like' 'Poison ivy is not a laughing matter!' And everyone, all the crew guys, were like, 'Oh, what's that?' and they'd run over and rip it out with their fists, and I was saying, 'Are you out of your mind?' And so I was the first one dodging it at all costs, and who turned around and got it first and the worst? It was me. I showed up and I had it on my eyes and all over my knees and then it got into my clothes, so then every time it would start to get better and I would put my clothes on, it would get all over me. I had it on my tush and everywhere--it was just awful. And I couldn't wear calamine lotion because, for one, it's that awful color and I'm not really too covered up in the film. So it just haunted me for a long, long time."
Ok, it probably wasn't for the best.
- And I sure wouldn't mind seeing Emmanuelle Chriqui nude, especially after seeing her in "100 Girls".
Nudity or not, I'm really looking forward to this film. I just hope it really is a return to "hardcore horror" as Stan Winston has said.

Some inbred freaks trap some motorists by causing them to get in an accident. From there, it looks like pure madness.
Who else is looking forward to it?

I saw this one at an advance screening last night. This movie is totally off the hook for gorehounds who are tired of watered-down horror from the last few years. This is a ruthless, down-and-dirty fright show the likes of which has rarely been seen since the 70's. The movie is not interested in novel plot twists, only in thrusting its audience into a graphic, 90-minute nightmare that truly never lets up. Check it out.
