Maybe I missed something from not reading the book, but I was confused as to why the bad guys (who ARE they??) would want to pull Jason Bourne out of hiding to kill him. I know he was the only person left who would know about the Neski murder, BUT #1 he was in hiding and wanted to be left alone, and #2 he had amnesia. Something didn't make sense there.
You didn't miss anything from not reading the book. The only thing that these films have in common w/ the books are the character, Jason Bourne, and the fact that he had amnesia. The books are completey different and I highly suggest them.

Wound up seeing the film again today, and had to sit a bit furthur back.

The shaky cam syndrom actually was less noticeable, which I found a bit odd. Also caught a few small details I missed the first time through, but nothing substantial .

And for one reason or another, my opinion of the movie went up with the second viewing.

i liked this flick... but the shakey camera thing got old. Didn't puke or anything, but it was just soooo over used in this movie that it got annoying by the end. OK, so Damon and the other guy arent real black belts... doesnt mean you need to try and make the weak-stomached people in the audience throw up to cover that fact up...

I'm actually with the others, I don't think it was there to cover it up.

I guess Im in the minority in thinking this movie was only passable. I thought it dragged way too much and while the camera work was ok with me it was unforgiveable in the main fight scene-which greatly reduces the movie in my opinion because it was one of the few action bits in the movie. Also add to the fact that it was pretty long only served to piss me off more because I couldnt enjoy any of it. The end car chase was cool ( a little long in coming) but running the same crash shot 3 times got tiresome. I also hated most of the deaths happening offscreen and ------------SPOILER----------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------

while I understand the fact he didnt kill some of the people indirectly involved in memory of his girlfriend I think it was a punk move in letting the assassin that directly killed her get away alive.

I saw the movie last night and got really sick. I got a huge headache and felt really nauseous due to the shakey camera movement and from the extremely quick editing. This is the first time ever where I felt sick from watching a movie. I had to close my eyes for most of the time during the final car chase.

Did anyone feel sick too? The only movie I can think of where people felt sick was watching the Blair Witch Project but I didn't see this in the theater. I am 23 years old and I guess I am starting to get old.

Thought it was very average. First of all, hated the shaky camera like most others. Just thought is was kinda slow with no surprises. I thought the first 20 minutes were decent, but it went downhill from there. The first was much better.

Saw it this weekend. Thought it was one of the better sequels ever made and was really impressed. Shame about
Spoiler:
Franka though. Guess that was a studio's way of saying she will never truly be a star in American Cinema.

Where were you sitting? I was sitting in the fifth row, I didn't get sick but can see how some people could get sick if they focused on the screen too much or too closely. But surely you'll concede that the sound made up for the shaky camera work.

Yeah, I hate it how foreign female actors don't really get much respect from Hollywood.

what a disappointment this sequel doesn't hold a candle to the first film. Director Paul Greengrass doesn't take any chances or surprises to the storyline or it's characters. The audience is always painfully aware of what's to happen within the next few minutes after any revelation within the plot. The car chase seems obligatory and OTT. I personally hated the style and editing of the fight scenes, it was if the director and the editor needed ritalin. The film is well acted, but for a film of this genre it is lacklustre and mundane at best.

was there anything unpredictable in this movie at all??!! Take out damon and put in snipes..or Ford or... whoever.. the plot will stay the same...

I ve never seen a more anticlimatic movie in my life..(slight exageration)
And WTF is up with a shaking camera.. what?..can't make a believable fighting seen without shaking??

The first one sucked and this one sucked.. what a waist of $20

The camera was Heaven compared to that in Man On Fire.

Hows that work?

Stupid joking aside, there were quite a few things that surprised me. But then I'm not overtly cynical about my movie twists. It seems a lot of people that didn't like the first don't like this one... I'm actually not surprised at all there but noteworthy none-the-less.

I loved both films, but the camera tomfoolery in Supremacy was worse than it was in Man On Fire, imo.

I loved the first movie. It was far more human and Bourne was easy to connect to. This movie was just cold. The audience is distanced from Bourne, and the plot doesn't seem to move forward. The acting is top notch, and the shaky camera didn't bother me as much as others. It's not a bad movie, but in comparison the first, doesn't hold a candle.

B.A., I loved both films also, but the camera in MOF was just hell for me. It didn't make me sick or anything, it just pissed me off, it just bugged me. The camera work in Bourne was rough at times, but nothing compared to that in MOF.

I'm glad that we both could overlook the camera work in both films though, as I really feel that both films were very good.

I got dizzy in the first 20 minutes. Honestly, i could have shot the movie better with a handy-cam. It seemed to get worse as the movie went on, 85% of the shots were shakey. I had to lean forward during the chase to get a little perspective, and not yack. You know its bad when the steadiest shot in a movie is through the scope of a sniper rifle.

Great story, horrible camera work.

I thought the first Bourne flick was enjoyable, but dragged a bit and overall, was just an average action thriller... The Bourne Supermacy was a GREAT action thriller... I LOVED this movie. For me, it outdid the first one in every way. The characters, the story, the action and I even enjoyed the jittery camera work. I wasn't sure if Bourne would end up being the franchise that Universal had hoped, but now, I can't wait for the ULTIMATUM... good thing I haven't read the books, because apparently if I had, I'd be pretty pissed off with the way they've been treated!

I felt this way too, as if it wasn't the same Bourne. And
Spoiler:
Marie's death
contributed to that feeling I think.

I liked it. Not quite as good as Identity but still good. While I didn't love the camera work, it didn't bother me either. Looking forward to #3...

Me too. Got a headache from the camera, and really lost interest in the movie- the camera movement was obviously to make up for the lack of good direction on the action. The first movie wasn't all that bad.

They should really try to limit obnoxious idiotic sigs on this site.
I guess, but it's for a once-a-year DVD Talk event that only lasts a week (and ends today, incidentally), created in the spirit of fun.

If you had contacted me tactfully I would have revised it immediately. However, I personally have a bigger problem with rude, insulting members than big, short-lived signatures.
