They asked... she declined.

I have to admit; part of me is even more excited about Bello taking over the role. After The Cooler, she has a free pass in my book for a while...

Tarantino 04-13-08 10:08 PM

Guys, I hear there is a Mummy 3, and it's set in China.

Brendon Frazier's son?

How could you do an Egyptian movie in China...lol. Not a fan of Cohen. Bello is hot but Weisz was great. Sure, I'll see it. 2nd one was not the greatest though.

UAIOE 04-16-08 01:42 AM

Probably makes more sense in China as the Chinese discovered a better method to preserve bodies

New site launches tonight at midnight. Very cool teaser poster...but I'm still shocked at the lack of a trailer - Universal had 2 high profile releases the last two weeks and didn't get a teaser out to attach to them...WTF are they doing over there?

chris_sc77 04-30-08 11:52 AM

I dont like that poster at all. I do have some confidence that this could end up being a rather fun movie. Cant really say more until I see a trailer....I am also very surprised that they havnt had a trailer for this yet. I remember seeing The Mummy Returns trailer every single week starting about 6 months before the film finally came out.

JJE-187 04-30-08 12:39 PM

Maybe a teaser before Iron Man.

Mr. Cinema 04-30-08 12:43 PM

I'm sure we'll get a trailer before Incredible Hulk. But I would like to see one sooner. I think this will be similar to Jurassic Park 3. It won't be as successful as the first 2, but should be an entertaining movie.

tronmaster 04-30-08 01:21 PM

What I hate about sequels that not everyone shows up is that somehow that have to explain why the other person is not there so they usually go with a divorce route. Mummy 3 will probably have Brendan Fraser divorce from Weiss to explain her disapperence even though the first 2 movies they were in love.

Really, just say she's busy with another adventure. Ugh. As long as their kid is not in it than I probably will watch it.

Isn't Maria Bello playing Evy? I thought they recast the role. They didn't write out the character(ala Speed 2).

Oh, okay didn't know that. That might be okay or even worse.

I enjoyed Weiss in the first one, because she seemed more with that period. The second she just seemed out of place, I think it was her hair style.

Well, I still hope their irritating son doesn't appear!

Seantn 04-30-08 03:23 PM

Their son does appear, but it's a different actor playing him as an adult.

mdc3000 05-14-08 04:05 PM

Trailer is finally coming out this Friday. It'll be in some theatres with Narnia and online at Rob Cohen's blog at 9am PST. Looking forward to it!

Shazam 05-14-08 04:14 PM

According to EW, Rachel Weisz refused to reprise her role because she refused to play the mother of a 21 year old.

Trailer is here:

Looks awesome, though the Yeti seems a little too cartoonish.

Looks ok. Doesn't appear as light-hearted as the first two, but then again the ad campaign for the first two Mummy flicks made the movies seem a lot more serious then they turned out.

fumanstan 05-16-08 10:17 AM

Not a bad trailer. Although seeing it, I wonder if the long delay in actually seeing one for this movie was due to all the effects.

islandclaws 05-16-08 11:03 AM

Meh. SFX look kinda weak. I see the lines are corny as ever. Fraser still sucks. I'll pass, unless this gets awesome reviews.

ardathbey 05-16-08 12:23 PM

Eh, looks like it'll do.

hapgilmore 05-16-08 12:45 PM

Directed by Rob Cohen...this is without question going to suck

mdc3000 05-16-08 02:58 PM

I think the trailer is OK, does a decent job selling the flick but I am not thrilled with the voice-over / cutting of the trailer - but still have high hopes for the flick (despite Rob Cohen). (you can see the trailer in bigger HD format here http://movies.msn.com/movies/movie.a...11&GT1=MOVIES3 )

Mercury&Solace 05-16-08 03:13 PM

Another god damn movie that uses the stupid arrows in the sky thing.
This looks ok, i'll do it.
