Re: Alien 5 (D: Blomkamp) S: Weaver
Newt and Hicks are dead! They aren't going to be in A5. Thankfully, that is all that matters! Woooooo!
Shit, I forgot, going to crossover with terminator, the future isn't set. Then Lucy is everywhere. |

Re: Alien 5 (D: Blomkamp) S: Weaver
In the new issue of Empire - on shelves this Thursday, March 26 - Neill Blomkamp talks a little bit more about his plans for his new Alien movie, which won't, in his words, "tread on the toes" of franchise godfather Ridley Scott's upcoming Prometheus 2. "I changed the one thing [Scott] felt was bumping Prometheus a little bit," reveals Blomkamp. "One thing that makes me feel good about it is that Ridley is producing it. He likes the idea of what I want to make." On top of this tantalising titbit, there was another intriguing aside from the South African sci-fi maven: Alien 5, as you might want to call it, will most likely not be called Alien 5. "I sent the title I wanted to Ridley," says Blomkamp. "It's kinda quite bold, but it gives away too much if I say the title. But in the event that it doesn't work, I'm dead in the water...". What on earth - or, of course, what not on Earth - could it be? Leave your conjecture in the comment box below. |
Re: Alien 5 (D: Blomkamp) S: Weaver
I bet it's called Alien: Beating A Dead Xenomorph.

Re: Alien 5 (D: Blomkamp) S: Weaver
 That's a good one.
How about ALIEN: PETA Is MADD. |
Re: Alien 5 (D: Blomkamp) S: Weaver
RedLetterMedia's Half in the Bag talk a bit about Neil Blomkamp directing Alien 5 in this video announcing their standalone commentary track for the original Alien.
"Really? The director of District 9, District 9, and District 9 is making an Alien film!" |
Re: Alien 5 (D: Blomkamp) S: Weaver
I hope this never happens.

Rail Interface System? Essentially meaning you can load on attachments to the gun as a proper integration.
Exactly. Allows for multiple attachments to include sights, grips, lights, etc. |
Re: Alien 5 (D: Blomkamp) S: Weaver
Is that really what RIS stands for or are you just guessing.
|
Re: Alien 5 (D: Blomkamp) S: Weaver
I think they actually also call Rail Integration System too. That's the only thing I can imagine RIS would come up for in that photo.
I'm not a gun guy. I'm just getting all my info from what videogames have taught me about guns. I'm assuming the old pulse rifles didn't have attachments on it? All I really remember about the design of the thing is that Ripley attached things to it w/ tape. Soooooo those didn't have an RIS and were just plain? |

I was surprised when I used Google after Prometheus to find out that ion propulsion was actually a real scientific concept.

Re: Alien 5 (D: Blomkamp) S: Weaver
Thank God. Bury this turd deep and never look back.
Granted, it's to focus on Prometheus 2... http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/new...-hold#/slide/1 Neill Blomkamp says that his Alien 5 is “holding” pending 20th Century Fox’s plans for Ridley Scott’s Alien: Paradise Lost As has been previously speculated, 20th Century Fox‘s plans for Neill Blomkamp‘s proposed big screen foray into their Alien universe appear to be on hold. In fact, “holding” and “pending” are the terms Neill Blomkamp himself used in a Tweet the filmmaker published earlier tonight: Ridley Scott’s recently announced Alien: Paradise Lost is the Prometheus sequel to which Neill Blomkamp refers. That film is about to begin production in Australia for a December 31, 2017 release. Scott has previously suggested that it may be followed by additional sequels which could theoretically threaten to delay Neill Blomkamp’s Alien project indefinitely. Unfortunately, there’s no guarantee that Neill Blomkamp’s project will ever come to fruition, although Blomkamp himself does not seem to have given up hope. There’s also the potential return of Sigourney Weaver to consider as Blomkamp has continually suggested that Ellen Ripley is an important character in the story of his film. “[Sigourney] knows about it,” Blomkamp told ComingSoon.net in February, “and part of it was just inspired by speaking to her on set when we were filming ‘Chappie,’ and getting her thoughts on ‘Alien’ and what she thought of the movies that came after ‘Aliens’ and what she felt about Ripley and what was incomplete for her about Ripley. There was so much fuel in what she was telling me.”

alien is kinda holding/ pending prometheus 2. So I shall be working on other things... as much as I love the xeno- and Lt ripley
— Иeill BlomkΛmp (@NeillBlomkamp) October 30, 2015
|
Re: Alien 5 (D: Blomkamp) S: Weaver
Hey, Ridley has priority. He made Alien and The Martian is making a shitload. He gets preference over Neill.
|
Re: Alien 5 (D: Blomkamp) S: Weaver
Since i'm not a fan of Blomkamp's, i'm fine with this.
|
Re: Alien 5 (D: Blomkamp) S: Weaver
I loved The Martian, but Prometheus was a disaster and I have no desire to visit that particular universe again. I understand why Fox would give Ridley the nod over Neill given their box office draw, but I think they're making a mistake.

Re: Alien 5 (D: Blomkamp) S: Weaver
So can we get District 10 now?
|
Re: Alien 5 (D: Blomkamp) S: Weaver
I hope not. District 9 does not need a sequel at all.
