Going off topic a bit, but this sums up everything that's wrong with Andy Rooney. A few years ago he complained about the length of credits at the end of movies, then said that in his day, they showed the credits at the beginning of the movie. So he's complaining about something he doesn't have to see, then suggesting that they should instead force everyone to view them. Then he said that they should just print out a flier to hand out at the theater with everyone's name on it, which seems like even more work and eventually litter.
Man, that guy is dumb.

My favorite movie ever, Excalibur has no opening credits, just this:
The Dark Ages
The Land Was Divided And Without A King
Out Of Those Lost Centuries Rose A Legend...
Of The Sorcerer Merlin,
Of The Coming Of A King,
Of The Sword Of Power
EXCALIBUR

Beverly Hills Cop III and Last Action Hero have no opening credits, not even the title. I think Die Hard With A Vengeance didn't either. Die Hard II shows the title and that's it.

most recently, to my recollection, Underworld.

I posted twice to this thread... and I'm puzzled because the posts aren't here now. I certainly don't recall saying anything potentially offensive in them. Hm.
The Mummy Returns has no credits OR title at the beginning.
(moments later)... oh, I see, there's a nearly identical thread elsewhere. D'oh!

Manos: The Hands of Fate
Writer/producer/director Hal Warren forgot to add the film's opening credits in post-production, thus the movie opens with a nine minute driving sequence through the west Texas countryside while a tinny jazz soundtrack plays.

With the title in quotes.
