It looks like I own a 900 book that I really didn't want. Abs, we can still send it to India.

Remember the rules.

1 - For a low cost you get a positive rating on Ebay and so does the seller.

2 - There must be pictures taken with the winning item.

3 - The price needs to stay sane. With exceptions, including crayons of course.

4 - At the end we can send the items to Geoff if we believe it is the best place for them. Perhaps he could start a museum.

The DVDTalk Museum for Unusual Items Or Sellers That Intrigued Us Enough To Actually Buy Them
or
Things DVDTalkers Do With Their Time
or
Who'd Figure? A Crayon Run? In July?

- I still wanna know how we lost the pool.

HaHa. I have the crayons. Other than the pool, the typewriter and the clown straws this was what I wanted. My woman called me "expensive" when she saw the bid. Some things cannot be explained.

If we do more auctions we need a real place to send any stuff we do not really want. Any suggestions? Sending them to Mr. Kleinman (Geoff) seems like teasing the bear. It is not intended as such, but careful children should look both ways when crossing the road. Plus it is a waste of stuff that someone might actually use.

It seems like an easy way to improve an Ebay rating on items with supposed to be low dollar amounts. And just enjoy the confusion and future auctions featuring "crayons" or "typewriters" or whatnot.

Possible Shipping Locales
- A Boys and Girls Club
- some skeezy pawnshop out in nowhere
- The Prime Minister of Canada (legacy related items only...maybe a crayon. maybe a white crayon)
- some guy in prison

I shall post crayon pictures when they arrive. Gotta get our digital camera back soon.

I don't really want to send it to India, but I'm sure I can snag my cousins address and make some minor adjustments to it so that it gets sent nowhere.

Hey, if you do not want it I will take it. But then no picture for you.

If you keep it I will send you a crayon. Your choice just not Burnt Sienna or the gold one.

Send her one back using the Da iGhetoo - Jive Translator -

I bought the crayons for my kids, it really doesn't matter what the price is as long as they are happy. Wouldn't you agree? Besides, the burnt sienna is well worth the purchase price alone according to the International Collectors Of Childrens Drawing Utensils.

Maybe put them in a end-of-the-year X-mas giveaway?
SO, are you guys gonna do this (find the crappiest item on eBay & start a bidding war - sort of like playing chicken) on a regular basis?

It has gotta stand out for one reason or another. I'm not wasting my time on just ugly. After only a few Elvis figurines, from his unbelted series, I would lose the urge to continue. We need quality also.

RandyC chose this auction 'cause of how it was written. Seems lke a good starting parameter. Oh yeah, cheap and shipping paid would help. Can you imagine some of the confusion we could cause? But we gotta have pictures. Haven't heard from einTier since he won the typewriter he does not want.

*** Xmas giveaway. Hmmm. I like it.

Either that or do something like this : Have people send you postage, and you send them a crayon. Then they have to take a picture with it, be wherever, then post it i.e. me at Disneyland with the crayon or wherever.

The 3rd Email

I agree that your kids should be happy. I also think your dumb ass needs to go back to school and learn how to talk and write an e-mail. Maybe your kids can teach you. You should use those crayons and practice your writing and grammer skills.

-Still trying to decide whether to respond or not. My language was a little cruder than I wished, but apparently I'm ignorant as dirt. Believe this should be kept as our secret and I will not give this away. Figure that from this some people will sell some product that will never move and only we know.

I decided to send one more email in Jive.

In English it says:
"My learning is unfortunately the best I could get. If I offended anyone it was an accident. You were a mean person and I hope you improve your behavior.

Sincerly"

In Jive:
" Mah learnin' be unfortunate-like da best I could git. If I offended anyone it
wuz some accident. Yo' ass wuz some main sucka' an' I hope yo' ass improve yo'
behavior. 'S all good.

Sincer-like"

Wait and see. ( Sincerly?)

Please, please, please, please, please post when this seller has more auctions up. I missed out on this set of items (not to mention RandyC sniped crankyman out of the straws...) and just have to see the next set of stuff to bid on!

This is the same person that wrote those wacky auction descriptions? She sounds pretty sane in the email.

I agree with Randy, you should send her a link to this thread.

It was someone else. Possibly an interested party wondering why these crayons went for so much money. Hoping for some explanation. The second response back came from a guy, maybe her husband. Just got a blank reply to the last one I sent out so that ends that.

I'm currently in negotiation for shipping. Apparently, the typewriter weighs 55(!) pounds, and shipping it isn't exactly cheap, as you can imagine.

I would feel bad if he had to spend a huge sum of money to send me a typewriter, and I really don't want to pay $30 for a typewriter I really didn't want, even though he's offering it to me for the cost of shipping. We're trying to work something out.
