I wish we had the European models instead of the crappy ones they send over here...

At least the Civic Type R has some oomph

I kept staring at him. He was trying to pretend I was not there. We waited for the light to change. I got set with my foot poised on the throttle and my other foot on the brake. Yes.. left foot braking. I was ready to drop the hammer when the light changed. I would beat him off the light.

With a steely reserve, I waited and then the light changed. Bam, I let off the brake and I lunged forward. YES!! I was taking him by half a car length. Try hard as he could, he was not going to show me up. I ruled.

I did my speed shifting trick, shoving the automatic's shifter in Drive without letting up on the gas. I think here I lost some valuable time as he came up dead even with me. I floored it with everything I had. I would win. I would. My manhood demanded I prevail. I did not want to look bad in from of my crew.

On we went, rocketing down the street. He had passed me now, but I think I was gaining on him. He had a manual shifter and would have to shift. Haha! And then, he turned on his turn signal. AHHA! What a wus! He knew I was faster. I flew by him as he turned into his driveway. Muhahhhaa.... I was the victor. I bet he is so embarassed.

Now to take my mom's minivan back home and let it cool down.

Oh holy carp, this is one of the funniest things I've ever read here. The part about "dropping the hammer"..."speed shifting" into Drive...

The CTR is suppose to hit the states in 03 to compete with the other models out there in the same class. >>> since the 02 Si is a joke

Really, the lesson here is all wrapped up in this. I can easily drive a minivan.... or anything really, because it's not my identity. See, I am content with myself and I know that the car is not me.

I am content with my driving ability and skills. I am content with my career and family and life and where I am at. And it's not about the money or house. I was content with how I was doing when I was riding the bus to my cheap apartment.

I hope you can understand that point?

eXcentris. You should have linked to the Cooper S

My next car appears to be the Mazda RX-8. It will be my grocery getter.

You know, before these threads I never heard the word "ricer". Why continue to fuel the fire that is LX98Civic? No matter what we say he is set in his ways. Granted, we can all get a laugh out over it...but eventually it will get stale.

All I want to know is if he is going to change his username to HB93Civic now?

And to the ones saying I don't take care of my daughter. Suck a ****! You don't even know me and what I do. Just because I bought another car does not mean my daughter is not taking care of. I would like to say that I pay child supp. each month and NEVER late. I also buy things for my daughter as well as see her as much as I can.
Good Father = buying her things and paying child support?

Didn't you say that you are not currently paying child support because your daughter's GRANDMA owes you money?

TOPBUNK (er... civic, er... whatever) - Have you considered just moving into your car? That way you would save the $100 pittance to your parents!

Even that would be more dignified that your little brother's bunkbed and eating cold, leftovers from Taco Bell that mommy and daddy got for you.

$8000 = enough to set yourself up into a NEW house

I hope you and your car (s) will be very happy together.

Who are your role models?
This is a serious question that I hope you take the time to answer.

OK...let me rephrase that...will he ask to have his username changed (to be honest I am not sure what the current rules on this are...I could go check Forum Feedback I suppose).

I heard that putting a Type R sticker on any car causes a 25hp increase!

When comparing a car's performance, I prefer to compare stock to stock. Afterall, if you have the money, you can make any car go fast. You can make a Civic go fast and you can make Mustang go faster with mods, etc etc. I've seen a clip of a turbo Civic beat a Ferrari F355. Big deal. I'm not impressed at all. I'd still take the Ferrari over the Civic anyday. Most of the Japanese cars are designed to have a balance between efficiency and performance and not intended to be fast on the 1/4 mile. Some cars are designed to do just that. But in the end, there's more to a car's performance than just 1/4 mile times.

I drive an Integra and at one time was into modifying, but I stopped after I realized how much money I was dumping into it. If anything I do now would be to sell it and get me a performance stock car.
