If you enjoy the way your life is right now, then more power to you.. but thats your cup of tea.
Just remember, that your 24, sleep on a bunkbed with your little bro, take your gf to said bunkbed, your a father, and your complaining about paying more than a 100 bucks a month for rent. This isn't even taking the whole car thing into account.. I think the reason most people here are making fun of you is because you have a good opportunity to grow up significantly by putting your priorities in order, getting the house, and move on with your own life... but your choosing a car instead. just remember a house is a life-time investment which value will be yours forever, while a car is only good for 5-10 years usually. Then that 5-20k that your putting into it is pretty much spent and you don't have much to show for it..
now if only I would listen to my own words... damn. I am nowhere close to buying a house for reasons I_Z pointed out...

What's the point of buying the engine if you cant' actually go disttances with it?

In a way, yes it is!
I'm immature, act like a teenager, have no priorities just because I will be 25 when I finally leave home?? You guys don't even know me
This is sig material, you know!
[....] the situation is not right and I am not ready (financially) to move out.
Procrastination is the thief of time.
[....] so why should I be in such a hurry to be out on my own?
Pride?
--I don't have much $$ saved
You suggest that your spending is fairly high, though....
--I don't have any kind of restrictions living at home
Hello!? I thought that was why you started the first thread. The owners of the house, your parents, did seek to restrict you by getting you to pay your way.
Maybe I'm not your typical person.
Yeah, if I would of started this job at 18 I'm sure I would of been out on my own by 20.
Way back when I was about 18, and before starting my degree, I didn't have a proper job. My monthly income was the UK equivalent of about $200. My mum mentioned rent so I gave her half. A few months later I was away studying and I have nev really lived at home since (a month or two at my dad's after graduating is all, I think).
Any other gripes about my situation?
No. Do you?

So i'm guessing you're also gonna put one of those ultra-obnoxious cringe inducing mufflers that make the car sound like a dirt bike on this "hybrid"? If so, i hope it ends up in a rice paddy.....

How can someone NOT see something wrong with having a kid and sleeping on a bunkbed with their brother?
How paralized by inertia do you have to be to not do something about that by 24? This sounds like the behavior of a scared little boy.

I'm sorry, I can't think of one person in your age group that you are currently better off than. Though I do find your phraseing interesting. You clearly don't associate 25 year olds as adults. I would guess most of the population does...except those banging their girl on a bunkbed when their brother is nice enough to leave

You guys bash all you want!!
I've got a career going where thousands have degrees and are sweating it out at the local restuarant. It's sad things go that way, but I am better off than MANY people out there.
Yeah, there are MANY people out there who are better off than me. But, I've talked to MANY people throughout my jobs and including this one who are having problems with the spouse, $$ problems, and any other problem you can think of....
My only problem is I don't have a house yet. AND I think it's more of a problem to you guys than myself since I am about to buy another car over moving out. I love my parents, love the cheap rent , and will love having the h/b & LX.
....Oh, and I'll be checking out a white 93 h/b in the morning which if I like I'll be paying cash
Bash all you want, but how many of you can actually go withdraw 3k for something you really want? ...Make that 7k, since the motor will be on order a few days after.

Have you thought of it this way, your parents may be trying to get you out of the house by asking you to pay up, b/c you share a room, you wouldn't go for that, so your desire to get your own house grows and grows.
