Am I hallucinating, or was there a different cover for BMW's The Hire than the one that's on dvdcoverart.com? I swear I saw one a while back...but I could be wrong, and hell if I can find it again...

I have a copy of Blazing Saddles. I will post it at dvdcoverart.net, so that Matt can post it at his convenience.

Glad to have the site back Matt!

Ahh... much better! (re: Buffy art)

So I just got my package from www.inetdvd.com, i.e., one triple keepcase and one sextuple (!) keepcase. I printed out Michael Miskulin's custom art (courtesy of www.dvdcoverart.net, thank you very much), and all I can say is I want more! I've ported my Buffy R1 Season 1 set to the keepcase, and plan on doing the same for Season 2 in June. If Fox keeps up this timeframe, we'll have all 6 current seasons by the end of next year (just in time for Season 8?) I'm already holding on to Dr. Miskulin's (Dr., right?) Season 3 cover for R2--thanks for not mentioning region coding anywhere on the box. I only hope the features listed on boxes 2 and 3 appear on the R1 releases, although I am confident he will adust the art accordingly, as he did for Season 1.

All that said, if you own Buffy Season 1, you owe it to yourself to download this wonderful art and get a rock-solid case from inetdvd.

On the subject of Inetdvd, it seems the one case they don't sell is the slim dual-disc case used by House/House II and Shrek. Does anyone out there sell these, or do I have to make do with the Amarays a la Gladiator?

Saving up for a color laser printer,

CS

Ok Kids...I spent the better part of the day scanning and editing and mostly waiting - damn modem - and now have the following:

The Grifters + Insert (the insert is a custom white background to save a little ink)

Logan's Run + Insert

Dangerous Beauty + Insert

Three Kings Insert

They are all at 300 dpi, scanned at 600dpi (thus took for fricken ever to open, edit, save, etc.). I'm going to upload them to http://www.public.asu.edu/~bolshoi/images/dvdart/ overnight, so they won't be available until tomorrow AM - and then Matt will post them at dvdcoverart.net after that. I've got two more to do and then i'm snapper free! I'll be doing Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf and Vision Quest (first time those two have ever been mentioned in the same sentence i bet!) soon, and i'll post them when done....enjoy!

Someone posted a great Matrix + Matrix Revisited DVD cover on this forum. I believe it is the same one listed at http://www.dvdcoverart.net/ .

Is there any way that I can get that cover in an .eps format?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Alterative 'The Lost Boys' cover.

Hello all,

Good to see there is a thread dedicated to User-created DVD covers!

I've just uploaded my 'The Lost Boys' R1 cover to my site. It features the IMO superior UK artwork. Please take a look and see what you think.

Alternative DVD Cover-art

Cheers!

Does anyone have a high quality scan of the cover of the recently released European Vacation? Damn snappers!

If so, please direct me to the website or please contact me by the email link.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you, Michael Miskulin, and Kevin Fox, respectively. Dr. M, is the Season 2 box R1-accurate? I've got it on my shelf, holding the space till June.

Anyone care to take a crack at Real Genius? And that Better Off Dead cover, was it always that yellowed, or was it just an old VHS cover scan?

back on my meds,

CS

P.S. Where does one start a petition to get MGM to put out From Beyond on DVD? I spoke with Stuart Gordon, the director, and he says MGM doesn't seem to think anyone cares about that one. Ergh.

Hi - I'm still looking for scans of:

Summer of Sam
The Talented Mr. Ripley
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

Do these even exist? Does anyone have these? I have looked through the recommended sites and have not found them.

Thanks!

Hey everyone, long time listener, first time caller. I LOVE what you guys are doing, I've got a few custom covers of my own that I'm gonna submit to dvdcoverart.com real soon. ANYWAY...Basiamille, From Beyond is available as an asian import DVD, I got mine on ebay a while ago. It does have asian subtitles which can't be turned off, but they're somewhat ignorable. Might be a bootleg, I don't know.

Hey folks! I'm in need of a hi-res scan of the Region 1 Big Trouble in Little China DVD, The Special Edition 2 disc set. Mine got ripped trying to take the security tag off. I hate that! Anyways, if anybody can help me out, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

I'm trying to find hi-res scanned inserts for:

Crazy/Beautiful
Joe Dirt
The Man Who Wasn't There

I purchased these PVD at Blockbuster, and they came with no inserts... any scans of these would be greatly appreciated!

BTW, to all involved... you've all made some great custom covers! I'm using almost all of the ones that I've found through this thread on the discs that I own now! Thanks again for all of those!

BasiaMille,

I'm glad you liked my Buckaroo cover.

The only two covers I've created so far have been replacements for horrid new studio art, so unless someone else does it first, I plan on tackling Real Genius after it comes out. However, I'm not sure what the original poster art looks like. Does someone have a graphic or link they could direct me to?

Also, the Better Off Dead art has always been that color. My LD cover is exactly the same, and it definitely hasn't yellowed with age. That was another one I planned to tackle, but now I don't have to.

Here is a link to a small pic of the LD coverart:

In my opinion...MUCH better than the one on the upcoming release!

Brett,

Thanks for the link, but I actually have the LD—and will possibly use a scan of that for a new cover—but I don't think it's the original poster art. I'm looking for confirmation one way or another. I agree it's definitely better than CTS' new art, but if the original poster art is different, I'd prefer to use that rather than the LD cover.

If anyone has an idea, please let me know.

Scanning laserdisc covers..?

How would one go about scanning laserdisc covers. I have some laserdiscs that I would like to put onto DVD...and they will certainly never see the light of day.

Any input is appreciated.

I've scanned a few LP covers that I've converted to CD, which are basically the same size as a LD cover. I did it in two scans (with some overlap) and carefully merged them together and scaled down in a paint program (Paint Shop Pro). Of course LD covers are square and DVD covers are rectangular, so something has to be cropped out or added to the final product.

You'd be better off finding movie artwork from other sources and adapting that.
