Plastic UE cases

I have American Pie and it doesn't seem particularly fragile to me. At least it's not cardboard. Also, the fact that it's transparent will make getting a good scan of it difficult. Maybe I'll go to the trouble if I see it starting to come apart one day.

My hope would be that someone altered the CE versions to make them include the technical data from the UE versions.

I had some free time today and made a cover for The Hire from BMW Films. However, I do not know how to post it somewhere for everyone can download it. Can anyone help me out with this? I also have American Pie UE, and a Coen Brothers Collection Box design.

Thanks for the work MrGoat00.

Can someone please help MrGoat00? A lot of folks would welcome the opportunity to finally get rid of the jewel case.

Thanks.

I made a cover, but have yet to contact MDX to post it on his site. I have no access to e-mail from my home computer for a fewmore days, so I wont be able to send him the file until then.

If anyone is interested in an alternate Buffy Season One cover for the 3-DVD cases, there's a nice high-res scan of it on DVD Cover Art.

Here's my question:

I've tried printing the high-res version on 2 different printers on good paper stock, not the cheap laserjet paper (I can actually read the small fine print on the back cover! Great job on the high-res version!):

HP ColorJet 4050 - very good flesh tones, contrast not as good.

Tektronix 850 - okay flesh tones (a little splotchety), but very good contrast.

My only bummage is on the printer's limitation to print cover 10.5" of the 11" of the width of the image in landscape mode. I have that 0.25" on either side that could have been nice to have for the cover to fit just right, as it is now, there's a little bit missing on the right hand side of the front, and a little bit missing on the left hand side of the back.

How do you get a printer to use the full 11" in landscape mode? Is this possible? Or am I relegate to try and find printers that do 11"x17"?

1. Get A4 (such as Epson S041061) or Legal (S041067) size paper. Your existing printers will take these sizes. Buy.com has both (see link at top of DVDTalk page). Legal paper is big enough to print the huge 7-disc Alpha cover even with the unprintable area.
2. Tape a 3" strip of cheap paper to the trailing end of the 11" and tell the software you're printing legal size. Then just make sure you don't run off the end.

This is great, I had no idea so many people had put so much work into this stuff. I can finally dump all those horrid snappers! Does anyone have art for Falling Down, Almost Famous-Bootleg Cut, The Negotiator and Unbreakable? What can I say, cardboard makes me nervous.

MrGoat00 emailed me some low-res covers, and I emailed him back asking him to send hi-res versions to [email protected]. I haven't heard back from him since though.
