Official DVD Replacement Cover & Case Part Deux
Rman360 originally started this thread but due to having a real life he stepped down and asked if someone would like to take over. I have volunteered to maintain it. I will also keep these links updated on my web page.
Mickey's DVD Covers
I will try to fill as many cover requests as I can but I can't fill them all since I don't own
every DVD and I do have somewhat of a life as well.
If you would like to help out but don't have a web page check out
Fortune City
It is fairly easy to setup a page on Fortune City provided that you use their online web page maker. I set mine up in about an hour and most of that was uploading my covers.
Feel free to post other cover/case sites, but if the site carries other
items please post the item-specific link.
Also, feel free to use this thread to ask for a certain cover not found
at the sites listed. Post here rather than starting a new thread this way we can all benifit.
If you would like credit for a cover you made, or your site, please let me know.

Just in case someone has a previously requested cover, the original thread is here.
Mods, make this thread Sticky! I think it's obvious a thread like this will always be necessary.
Thanks for taking the new thread Mickey!

I'd really like cover scans of the first 5 Twilight Zone DVDs. I, like many others, bought the gift set where the DVDs were in CD jewel cases. The link that's listed in this thread has original mock-ups of covers that do not match the rest of the series. Anyone have TZ 1-5 that they could scan in???

Does anyone know where I can actually find a LA Confidential snapper cover? I have the dvd but the cover is a little messed up through shipment. Anyone with any help. I don't want to convert to keeper case, I still want the cardboard original cover of LA Confidential. Thanks!

I know I'm thinking wishfully here, but has anyone seen custom keepcase inserts for either of these:
Serial Experiments Lain Promo DVD LPR-309 (came in a jewel case)
Koyaanisqatsi (which for $180 didn't even come with a case)

cover request(s) and intent for mass insanity
over the next week, I'm going to scan EVERY SINGLE COVER on my wall (about 200) be it snapper or keepcase. Not only will it give me the urge t finish my snapper conversions, I hope it will be able to help others that need new covers for used discs they get. I'm working up a plan to make these available (no FTP) and (if anyone is interested) merge anyone else's covers in as well... more on that later..
but for now.. I'm looking for these (d*mn you Half.com and good prices from netflix and d*mm you WHV for that 'roadmap' box for Blackadder')
Dragnet (the Akroyd/Hanks one)
Blackadder (the individual disc covers)

For those interested in replacing snapper cases...
This is only for newer releases.
I was at Hollywood video today, chatting with the manager(actually, I started working there part time yesterday, so I was asking some questions). HV usually gets the dvds already boxed for rental, with these box covers that don't have any artwork. Then, when they are placed on the shelf, they have the snapper or original case in front of them. It's a pain in the ass to put them back, so today I asked why they couldn't just have the artwork in them, so when we restocked, they could just go in the front rather than behind the box.
Well, it appears that starting with this new bunch of releases, there is an actual Alpha insert that matches the snapper in almost every way in the cases that are shipped to the stores. Then, when they get ready to sell them as previously viewed, they will be throwing away these inserts, sending back the cases and putting the dvd back in the snapper case. I saw the ones for Joe Dirt and See Spot Run, and they looked just like the snapper!
Sooooooo, if you go in and ask nicely, they might be able to save you an insert when they do thier ppv thing. Again, this is only for new releases, but it is my impression that this will be standard in the future.
Hope this was the right place to post this.

This was the starting post of a 'duplicate' thread that Blade closed :
namrufmot When you use your browser to go to a page like that, you need to take note of the (service) port that you were given. A more correct URL for a site like that would be look like -
ftp://129.2.242.8:3131
If you don't ad the ":XXXX" at the end of the URL, your browser will default to port 80 (the HTTP daemon). At least in it's default configuration. I didn't check the site you were looking for, as I'm at work and the firewall will block this port.
Hope that helps.
namrufmot asked:
ok..i'm interested in coverting my ugly WB snappers to nice keep cases. i've already d/l a few covers that i found but now i need sites that have s'more for me to download. i did find a link to this one:
"all of these can be downloaded from my ftp at 129.2.242.8 port 3131 user/pass: dvd. The covers are 10-15mb and the inserts 5-10mb."
but i cant figure out how to access it! i always thought that for ftp sites you simply type ftp://-------- and whammo..but 9 guess now
