Re: What Have You Ordered Recently? Part 7
Apologies if this is in the wrong forum, but I think it's fine to ask here.
I just got my first blu ray player and was curious as to how you know the blu's you order from amazon.co.uk will play on US blu ray players.
Those that are ordering, do yo have your player "hacked" so to speak? Or do some blu rays play on US players? If so, how do you find out?
Thanks in advance or your hel

Re: What Have You Ordered Recently? Part 7
This is a good site for seeing if UK and other region releases are region free:
http://bluray.liesinc.net/index.php?region=b
Watch for notes about 50hz or PAL material on the disc. If it simply says "yes" under region free, it should play fine on your Region 1 machine. Blu-Ray.com also reviews quite a few other region discs and points out region compatibility.
I do have a hacked Momitsu player now, but started ordering region free Blus when I had only the PS3.

I own all of the them as well. That Pialat collection is a must-buy, especially at that price! Everyone should order Savage Innocents as it is OOP.

While I agree that some of the broader material hasn't aged well at all (the excellent commentary track acknowledges this), it's still an interesting film with some gorgeous cinematography. Almost anything Nicholas Ray directed is worth watching. Plus, you can always unload the OOP disc for a profit on Amazon.

Ordered:
Twins Mission (R3)
I know it's universally considered garbage, but I'll admit I like it

Did you order the French BR of Antichrist? The French Disc is 1080i/50. The UK Disc might be the better option.

Re: What Have You Ordered Recently? Part 7
There is still some hope that IFC will license this to Criterion, isn't there? Probably only a couple extra months to see a BD in the USA. I know I can play the 1080/50, but I may wait...

DVD Times was reporting that the UK BD was also 1080/50
