Dead Set is a lot of fun. I was "acquiring" the episodes as they aired in the UK over Halloween week, and by Wednesday I was moved to pre-order the DVD.

And I'm delighted to confirm that the Jeff Keen set will indeed be region-free, as will all other BFI Blu-rays where it's not a specific contractual imposition or considered necessary for other strategic business reasons.

Apologies if you canceled your order in anticipation of a Blu-ray release. This was posted on the Criterion Forum:
It certainly feels that way most of the time.
I'll double-check (whether this is getting a Blu-ray release), but I don't believe it is any more.
If I remember rightly from a casual conversation with someone who worked on it, too much of the film turned out to be sourced from SD video to justify an HD upgrade.

I just placed my first non-US DVD order from Amazon.co.uk, the 3-disc Withnail & I for around $13 shipped. I'm going to preorder the IT Crowd Series 1-3 box set soon. It's about $2 cheaper at CDWow, so I'll probably get it from them unless anyone here recommends I just spend the extra and use Amazon. Seems to be the more popular site on this thread lately.
