The Germany presents - Thread
Well I thought of informe you about new German Movies on DVD, here are 2 good ones:
(I have it on DVD too) but havent seen, just a bit busy... but I will. My Sister saw it and said its very good and funny. The Movie has english subtitles too, so for all who dont speak German, no prob!
The other one is also very new out here and in my opinion the best new version of a movie
The most should know this movie or the topic...
Sadly I dont know if there are subtitles, in amazon they didnt write and I am at work...
I hope its okay, when I post DVDs from Germany here, maybe you will watch one anytime.

Sophie Scholl does not have English subs though half the German sites that reviewed the disc claim it has. It does not!!

I wish Germany would include English subtitles more often on their releases. There have been films which seemed very interesting but none came out with English subtitles:
Sophie Scholl
Lautlos
Kammerflimmern
Muxmauschenstill

Okay, I saw "Barfuss" (=bare foot) and I can say its a nice movie... I would say its more for women then for action fans.
A bit sad sometimes and yes I lost a tear... but it has also some funny scenes.

I saw Sophie Scholl, it was interesting and good, especially the main performance of the Claire Danes look alike (at least from the movie poster, to the modern Claire Danes of Shop Girl). Of interest to some is that the Exorcism of Emily Rose is based on a true story that took place in Germany and not far away is where the real Sophie Schroll was born, but not at the same time though. Both movies out in 2005.

If you're looking for a french fansub site for german movies, there's none, the only one I know is for asian films.

Movie titles don't need to make sense.

Just a follow-up to a couple of earlier posts, I was looking into "Kammerflimmern" some more and I see now that the German DVD release does seem to have English subtitles. Honestly, I would have sworn when I looked into it some time back that there was no mention of English subtitles on the German DVD release. I regret any misinformation I might have posted. So now it seems you have two options: German release or Australian release.
