The other one is also very new out here and in my opinion the best new version of a movie

As you can imagine the mods can't read every thread-why don't send them an email or pm to let them know....

Sophie Scholl does not have English subs though half the German sites that reviewed the disc claim it has. It does not!!

Welcome to the forum!!

I wish Germany would include English subtitles more often on their releases. There have been films which seemed very interesting but none came out with English subtitles:

Sophie Scholl
Lautlos
Kammerflimmern
Muxmauschenstill

« Ein Til Schweiger film », they're right, he was implied in production, direction, screenplay, acting and cutting. :) I will google for some reviews.

When I searched for french subtitles, cause I am learning french at the moment I found about 3 or 5 good ones... but turkish they have about a lot, oh god... :(

Okay, I saw "Barfuss" (=bare foot) and I can say its a nice movie... I would say its more for women then for action fans. ;) A bit sad sometimes and yes I lost a tear... but it has also some funny scenes. :)

I saw Sophie Scholl, it was interesting and good, especially the main performance of the Claire Danes look alike (at least from the movie poster, to the modern Claire Danes of Shop Girl). Of interest to some is that the Exorcism of Emily Rose is based on a true story that took place in Germany and not far away is where the real Sophie Schroll was born, but not at the same time though. Both movies out in 2005.

If you mean german films with french subs, I agree but there are more than 5.:)

If you're looking for a french fansub site for german movies, there's none, the only one I know is for asian films.

Had to do with (IIRC) fooling the mom that Communism was still around. Lenin was a Communist...

Movie titles don't need to make sense. :)

The title comes from the scene when a big Lenin statue is carried by a big helicopter.

Came across a pleasant surprise while searching (for "The Proposition") over at atlanticdvd.com.au, Kammerflimmern (2004) aka Off Beat aka Offbeat is getting a R4 Australia release on February 9th. It is up for pre-order at the site mentioned (search "Offbeat", also "Off Beat" on other Australian sites). As of this moment, I'm not aware of any other English-subbed release. I'm really looking forward to this one.

Just a follow-up to a couple of earlier posts, I was looking into "Kammerflimmern" some more and I see now that the German DVD release does seem to have English subtitles. Honestly, I would have sworn when I looked into it some time back that there was no mention of English subtitles on the German DVD release. I regret any misinformation I might have posted. So now it seems you have two options: German release or Australian release.
