FYI:
To get Korean language support:
Start --> Control Panel --> Regional and Language Options --> Languages (Tab) --> Install files for East Asian Languages
(it then prompts you for the Windows XP installation disk)

What’s all this about greasy cases? Mine was a bit greasy but it does not bother me
I cannot see them replacing my tin for my reason? but I will get a replacement if possable as whats the point of owning a tin you cannot put anywhere or touch! as it stained my bed while I was taking pictures
and it wouldnt wash out of the towel so my beds not gonna be cleaned either
maybe I could sew them for ruining a towel and my bed linen

I got the same reply from YesAsia as Dr. Gerbil did.

I haven't had a chance to examine the whole set, but I have damage to the movie digipack and supplement #1.
At least it looks like we are getting some responses out of YesAsia + Starmax!

The metal case is inside the purple box, and is not wrapped separately. There is bubble-wrap around the purple box. My metal case didn't have any fingerprints (nor any greasy substance, fot that matter).. it has irregularities and streaks in the 'finish', but I love the way it looks.. very unique. No chapter 13 problems with mine, plays fine.
Of course, I DO have damage from the rivits on two cases..waiting on replies to my emails.

Anyway, I decided to watch the second supplementary disk... that was one of the more entertaining sets of "behind the scenes" footage i've ever seen. Even without subs, I found myself roaring with laughter!

Geminix already answered, but the way it comes is this:

The only seal being the sticker on the front.
Once you open that, the copper case sits inside:

My Chapter 13 works fine as well, and my case wasnt greasy either. If there are fingerprints, I havent seen them yet.
EDIT: I havent even popped that disc in yet DR (Except for a quick second to check if it worked), it sounds great though, I'll definately need to watch it.
On an unrelated note, Harry Knowles has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING To talk about in the commentary track and basically reads the subtitles out loud to pass the time, as well as a play by play on some of the scenes..

Got to spend a little time with the UE - the copper case has no grease, no fingerprints. It does have a strong metallic odor, but I don't notice it unless I get close and sniff. No dents or dings, some minor scratches and silver patches, but that adds to the "look" I think.
The spine of my Movie digipack is pretty roughed up, the Supplement 1 spine has a small scrape. Having received responses from both Starmax and YesAsia, I'm fairly confident that I'll be able to secure replacements.
The rest of the cases, discs, film cels, book, flipchart, and outer cardboard box are in great condition. The Oldboy SE fits into the copper case, I just had to bend the top lip of the case up a little to get it in. The spines of the six discs look really nice all lined up together. I have to find some kind of padding to put over the copper rivets on the inside of the case to prevent further damage.
I skipped through the movie briefly, and I think the new transfer is outstanding. Watching the old SE on progressive scan on my widescreen wasn't too thrilling. The new transfer is much much better, less washed out, a more stable image with stronger colors. Some of the scenes really pop on the new transfer, like the pan down the sushi bar. The sickly green of the hallway fight scene looks like it's going to drip off the screen. If you're a fan of the film and you can't spring for the UE, definitely pick up the FE.
I thought I noticed some slight re-edits of scenes, but I might be mistaken?
The cardboard case has COPY CONTROLLED DVD written in big letters. I'm going to try to rip it to see what happens. Have the Koreans cooked up some new encryption scheme?
Having the OST is a big plus. I don't usually sit around listening to soundtracks, but this one is nice. It has *all* the music from the film, so the themes that are repeated with slight variations appear on the CD multiple times.
The UE is back in stock at YesAsia, btw.
What do you guys think of my new sig? I'm such a dork.

Yeah, according to the purple box:
The runtimes are: 120 / 203 / 212 (Or 2 hours for the movie, 3h 23m for disc 2, and 3h 32m for disc 3 -- I think the soundtrack is about 55-60 minutes as well)
EDIT: What might be the problem is that you're only watching 1 of the months?

^ Thats pretty cool
I got a mid-1500 number, I'd be real interested to know just how many of these sets were sold in Korea. With under 3,000 made, it seems like a huge chunk of them were bought up by US-Importers (Same for the Infernal Affairs set).
Even finding a limited # boxset in the US Can be hard. If people overseas had a huge interest in them it would be near impossible to find them it seems.
