Why would it have burned in subtitles for the Cantonese parts and not the English?
Yes, this is why I'd be very surprised if just the Cantonese parts had burned in subs. Japanese audiences would need subs for the whole film, and on the various Japanese DVDs I have seen, subs are rarely burned in (even if no other language sub options are available). I'm guessing that the Japanese distributor receives an international print with no subs at all and adds their own subs where needed (burned in theatrically, programmed on the DVD). When I saw Vol 1 theatrically in Japan, the Japanese spoken parts had no subs at all, for example (no burned in English subs like in the US prints).

Pai Mei definitely spoke Cantonese in the U.S. theatrical version (which i assume is the same internationally).

Kill Bill Vol. 2 Box (Including Vol. 1)

At cd-wow.com for around $76. For those that missed out, this might be a viable option.

Perhaps. I thought it might be true, based on the info I read on the first page of this thread.

It seems to be everywhere now, so I take it, its not limited at all, like the 1st set, they said the 1st set was limited to 30,000 thats a laff, as everyone has one and they are still knocking around, I dont think part 2 is even limited is it?

I was never able to get the first set. Do you know of any places where it is still available?

It's available bundled with the Vol. 2 LE Boxset at YesAsia.

Is the Japanese cut any different for Volume 2 as it was for Volume 1?

Yeah, I loved seeing the panic buying when the sets first hit ebay. Then, sellers started breaking up the sets and making even more money. I remember some idiot bidding over $100 just for the Okinawa t-shirt.

From what I here, there's not going to be any more scenes added to Kill Bill Vol. 2. But you just know that in the future we're going to be getting the two films spliced together, probably with new scenes and extra features, and we're going to be expected to buy it all over again. I bought the Kill Bill Vol. 1 boxed set only because I knew it included the uncut version and figured why not spend a little extra money at eBay. But am I the one who is finding it harder to justify the Kill Bill Vol. 2 set, especially with more Kill Bill DVDs looming in the horizon? The completist in me would love to buy it so I could have both boxed sets sitting together on the shelf, but the pragmatist in me is screaming to wait.

By the way, cultshock, you're right, anyone bidding more than $100 for the Okinawa T-shirt is an absolute idiot. (Especially when I spent less than that and got the boxed set still sealed and with the limited edition yellow, sweat suit-styled packaging)

Or you could even print your own t-shirt if it was clear enough (but I am sure you wouldn't be thinking of doing that now, would you)

They charge it right away as they use a gateway for payments (they don't store your credit card info).

Now what a silly idea is that? I tried, but my laser printer does not take t-shirts

I sincerely hope you're kidding. I believe he was saying you could print it onto an iron-on sheet

OK I am a little late in this thread (when I checked for a box set here before, it must have been just before this thread).

So where is the best/cheapest place to preorder right now? I checked some of the sites mentioned, and many of them say that it is already sold out.

BTW, I can't find it on CD Wow, so if anyone can provide a direct link, please do!

I recall a site listing Vol 2 japanese version has being uncut. I went through this thread and I know it's been asked...but no one has responded with any firm info. Is there different version (than R1) of Vol 2 that has been released in Japan?

Thanks
Ron
