Definitely a good price, since Amazon.co.jp's price increase. I luckily got in on the deal before the increase, so I'm paying $69.70 express delivered.

I would go with their standard shipping and save some $$$$.

Makes sense, but I would preferring limiting the amount of time it's in the shipper's hands.

argh, 73 bucks on amazon now. sucks. Especially since it doesn't have the bonus of being a different cut and I have still not opened the shirt in fear it will be a small

Perhaps I'll just find someone to trade on the exchange for a season of x-files or something.

After careful consideration, I've decided not to get this one. If there was a different cut of the film, yeah I would get it, but it doesn't appear that there will be. The bonus stuff isn't overly appealing to me either. To be honest, I was hoping that they would come up with even cooler stuff than was included with the first box set, but they really haven't. Hopefully I don't regret this later. Maybe Japan will have a Super Final Premium Box Set next year, and I'll get that instead.

I am with you Cultshock. The only difference between the R1 and this R2 is a BOX. Not worth the extra $45-55 dollars if you ask me. I understood the reason to purchase the first one but this one I see no reason to purchase.

Oh, and just from seeing what companies in Japan seem to come up with, I have no doubt a "Super Final Premium Box Set" is possibly on the horizon.

The shirt is also not really all that grabbing compared to the shirt from the first box set. argh, it's a tough choice. the completist in me is demanding me to get it. But the logical side of me is telling me that it's not really worth it in the long run to get it. Oh well.

Me too, just double checked my order and it's still at 6080yen. Whew!

The lack of a different cut is certainly disappointing and lowers the value of this set to me considerably, but I just must have the matching box!

I think it's safe to assume that this disc will have the same subtitle problem as the Japanese edition of Vol. 1. The Chinese language scenes will likely default to Japanese subtitles unless you manually toggle English subs on and off between scenes.

I haven't seen KB 2 yet but I was told that there was no Japanese speak in Vol. 2 anyway so if that is the case, subs will be a non issue.

Well, like I said, I didn't see the film. I guess I'll find out who Pei Mei is.

Yeah, because subs for 5 minutes of a 2 hour flick can really spoil a person's day.

Well, he spoke Cantonese actually. If I recall, he had no fondness of the Japanese, so he sure wouldn't be speaking their language. (I think the only Japanese spoken in the film is a line or two by the Bride)

The English subs will probably work the same as with the Japanese Vol 1 disc, but as pointed out, 95% of the film is in English this time, so its would be less of a pain in the ass to deal with.

Almost the entire Pei Mei sequence is in Cantonese, which is a solid chunk of the film. However, it's really only that one part, so you wouldn't need to keep your hand on the remote for the rest of the movie, unlike Vol. 1 where a numer of scenes have bits and pieces of Japanese dialogue.

Yeah, 5% was a complete guess.

But yes, it's one whole chapter ("The Cruel Tutelage of Pai Mei") of Cantonese, with the rest almost entirely in English, so there is no need to continuously toggle the subtitle button on and off, unlike on the Vol 1 DVD.

That is cool. I've seen some Asian theatrical posters and banners with the same pic (usually in B&W). Very striking.
