Yes, to the best of my knowledge the Integral disc is exactly the same in it's single release and as part of the double pack. The additions in the double are the disc which contains the US theatrical edit and the photobook (nice, but in no way 'important') and the outstanding packaging. But I'm sure the single release is a beauty in its own right too!

Thanks for the info. I much prefer the black case so this is good. I will soon be making the region-free plunge and this will definatley be one of my first discs.

I just received my copy from YesAsia, and I can't speak highly enough of it.
It's looks and sounds (DTS) fantastic!
Puts the U.S. Superbit version to shame in both regards!
One of my favorite movies finally gets the treatment it deserves!

Actually...i just watched this Japanese version.
I don't understand how it could have gotten any worse because there was VERY little surround information on this one either. I kept waiting for something to explode because everyone complained that the superbit didn't have any surround information. Well, this REALLY didn't have very much either. It's a very front-heavy movie...even the action sequences.

Not that it matters. They both have the same transfer.

The new R2 DTS release (white cover) has lower audio in the surrounds than my Columbia R1 (fixed version). I spent over 30 minutes comparing the first chapter of both and the surround on the R1 is quite stronger. The surround on the R2 DTS (and DD) isn't bad and is much better than the unfixed Columbia release, but it should be louder. I do not have the Superbit to compare.
I really wish this was reported sooner, before I bought it.
