Re: Amazon Prime Day - July 16, 2018
This is the first year I've had Prime (I took the trial). While I definitely came out ahead, due to the $20 credit & the free trial, I can't believe how lame Prime Day is compared to the hype. I bought the 2 Uni horror boxes before Prome day started (& read that they've been cheaper in the past); & bought a 6 pack of crackers. Not what I expected.

The Shield TV is up for a lightning deal if anyone wants a HTPC.

About 100 items from my saved-for-later list in the cart vanished during this sale. One gets the feeling that Amazon wasn't fully prepared for all this traffic.

I bought a handful of things from Amazon, including an Echo Spot and some movies. Much better then previous years, and I've been looking at some excellent deals but just couldn't pull the trigger on like a new Samsung SSD.
There's a lot of random things that always go on sale, so the people that are most disappointed seem to be the ones that want to see a lot of just video games or movies go on sale.

They seem to have the site issues fixed today, but the prices & selection aren't anything all that special (especially on media).
The best deal seems to me to be all of the various Kindle readers, but mine works fine.

I was hoping that somehow Amazon would see what I had saved in my list and then offered many/most for a discount. I had a few items, Honeywell Lyric T5 thermostat and new Cable modem, that never were discounted (that I saw). Oh well, there is always Newegg to check.

I been eyeing the items in my cart to see if they go down on prime sale and it doesn't reflect. But surprisingly when I clicked the items they are on prime sale. So I ended up purchasing (or "claiming") two of the items in my cart. I have a few more items to go. I didn't think I would end up partaking in this Prime sale today.

I hope next year or whenever they do this again they have a more simplified solution to make it smooth to make those sale purchases.

Yeah, I thought that those titles which qualified for 20% off would have shown up in the "Saved for later" portion of the cart. They *did* indicate that in the cart proper. I spent way too much time checking each title to see if it qualified. Only 3 out of ~100 did. I didn't purchase any of them as they'd all been on sale for the same price, or less, in the past year which is a fair indicator they'll be that cheap again. If people wouldn't make knee jerk purchases because Amazon says it's a "deal" maybe they'd offer something other than the "let's see what we're overstocked on" items.

Or it could be one of their brain-dead cookie based experiments. You got lucky with the random cookie to test if you click on certain features. Try clearing your Amazon cookies - but be sure to close all Amazon windows/tabs, then clear Amazon cookies, then restart your browser. Or just try a different browser or computer as they don't always push those feature test cookies to every browser/computer you use.
