Amazon Prime Day - July 16, 2018
Amazon Prime Day is starting on July 16th at 3pm and runs through July 17th. Looks like there might also be some extra Daily Deals running up to Prime Day.

The first Prime Day may have been a joke, but I actually got some pretty interesting and useful stuff during last year's sale. Looking forward to seeing what comes out of this one.

I hope there is a good deal on echos. I'd like to get one for the kitchen and one for my daughter's room since she loves listening to music.

I've just about used up the fifty-five barrel of passion lube, so it looks like its time to get another one.

I grabbed a Dot when they first came out. The speakers are awful for music. But I paired it with this external bluetooth speaker, and the sound quality is excellent.
I haven't compared it to the Echo, so I don't know which option is better. But the Dot + Speaker is cheaper by around $20-$40 depending on sale prices. Plus you have a portable speaker which can be used for other stuff.

The Echo Show is supposed to be $100 off, I might upgrade my Echo with one of those.

If you're going to upgrade, there's a Trade-In program that gives you an additional 25% Off a new Echo device.

Thanks for the heads up though, I wasn't aware of this program.

If it's for listening to music, you might want to consider getting a Dot and a external speaker.

Sorry for what may be an obvious question but never having taken "advantage" of Prime Day will there be some sort of automated reminder/notice about prices from your wish-list or just scroll through it to see discounts?

Otherwise, register at camelcamelcamel and set up price notification emails on stuff you want.
And neither of those methods will help much with "Prime Day" sales as they are mostly Lightning Deals which don't show up in your cart or get tracked by ccc.

Re: Amazon Prime Day - July 16, 2018
Having not done anything for Prime Day before, how do these Prime Day specials work? Are they like lightning deals (where you have to be quick on the trigger to get it)? Or are they like Deals of the Day where I can just get it any time during the day?
The one thing that I am wanting is a Blu Tooth speaker for the house. There seem to be a few decent ones that will be part of this Prime Day thing. I'm not sure about the Alexa Echo though. I don't think I have a need for all of those smart features (just something moderately small and decent for a mid-sized room that I can sync up audio from my phone to). But who knows ... maybe the Echo will end up being like a tablet for me (where I didn't think I needed one, but found tons of uses for it after I had it).

Got 2 echos for $69.99 each, - Whole Food $10 promo -$20 promo for buying 2. Worked out to be just under $60 each.

You can find a deal and "Add to Watchlist" but it's a little cumbersome.
Seems like their servers are getting hit pretty hard, I'm seeing lots of cute puppies.
WF - Whole Foods.
First deal I saw was for an 8" Kindle Fire HD - same one I bought last Prime Day, for the same price.
Good deal on Echo products (surprise) but I don't need anymore after giving everyone Dots for Christmas last year.
I have original Echos but I don't think I need to upgrade them.
I would agree, don't get an Echo just to use as a bluetooth speaker. In fact, I go the other way around - connect my phone via BT to Echo to listen to music. It's not an audiophile quality speaker but when I want to listen to music while cooking dinner or launder, it works fine.

They have such a captive audience that they can limit their sale to just those who spend money on their membership, and still crash the site, despite them being the best positioned company to be able to handle heavy traffic loads.

And I had to
