Looking for the best deal on a dyson vacuum...

So far it looks like the refurbs from www.heartlandamerica.com are the cheapest. The DC07 is $250 and the Animal is $299.

Anyone know of something cheaper?

Not a Dyson but Amazon has a very good deal on a vac.

Panasonic MC-V7582 Bagless Lightweight HEPA Vacuum with Dual-Sweep System and Electronic Dirt Sensor for $153 - $25 coupon KHBBDECEMBER - $30 rebate = $98 with free shipping. You also receive a $50 promo certificate for future purchase.

Deal is good through today.

They're not in stock right now - but have been in stock from time to time.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

I bought one from Sears and love it. If you can get the right salesperson you might get something off their sales price but keep in mind these are one of those things they prefer not to discount. They will pm if you can find anyone they can match. They do have demos once in a while and those are very much discounted. Still get the standard warranty from the date of purchase.

I got a new one off ebay, missed out on the deals of the summer where Amazon had some in the gold box and such. I ended up getting the new DC14 for $300 shipped and I love it. I had a Hoover Windtunnerl and a Bissell Bagless w/Hepa and both of them were always clogging and losing suction. When I got the Dyson I did my house with the windtunnel then redid it with the dyson and had to empty the dyson 4x(house is about 1500sq ft). A big reason for the "need" for the dyson is I have a Malamute and American Eskimo so lots of hair around all the time.

Are there any current Dyson deals out there? I want to get the DC-07 - are there any deals for new (instead of refurb) ones?

Bed, Bath and Beyond has a 20% coupon that comes in the mail. It states that it cannot be used to buy a Dyson vacuum, but they will often ignore that. I bought the top of the line model there last week for 20% off. Other than reconditioned ones, this is the best deal I am aware of.

Strange. Our entire family room area and my office has berber carpeting and we've had no such trouble with our Dyson DC07. Have had it for several months now.

We got ours at Kohl's on a 20% off sale, $320 + tax. Love it so far.

I ended up getting the refurb animal, and when we use it on the one room with berber, it took a lot of strands out and wound around the brush thingy. It may be too powerful for berber. On everything else, however, this is one incredible machine.

DC07 refurb is $249 plus shipping. pretty good price. The animal is $50 more and in stock. I sure wouldn't hesitate getting the refurb. No idea what was wrong with ours, but it appears just like new.

Best vaccuum we have ever had.

During the great Amex 25% at Amazon promo, I got the Full Kit Dyson from Amazon for ~236: $320 - 25% - 1.67% A9 discount. I guess I'm just bragging cause I don't think you could repeat that deal today. Good luck! To get somewhat back on topic I like mine a lot, I vacuumed 2 rooms with my old one then with my new one, and it was a big difference.

I don't know if this the right place or not, but what is the difference between the DC07 and DC14 series of dyson?

A comparison on BB site show only that the cord on the 14 is 6" longer. The Dyson site doesn't allow a side by side comparison. I was just wondering if anyone knew.

You're probably confused because some (not all) of the other posters have misspelled it. It is 'Berber' carpet. I found this link here:

I purchased the Dyson a few months back and my wife thought I was crazy. Now she is so happy that I purchased it with the baby on the way. I paid 269.99 shipped a while back. Do a search for my post and you will find out who I went through. My came with an additional one year warranty. FYI..there is no differenct between the yellow, red, green, and purple ones. The only difference is the attachments. So, if you are not going to use the attachments (I don't miss them) go with the yellow.

Exctally Right I got the red 14 because I wanted the big floor one for under beds when my dogs go under there, but didn't have a use for the purple or silver extra ones.
BTW have had it since xmas, I love it and my wife thought I was crazy too, now she has cast off the hoover and bissel.

The DC14 is a newer model with minor differences. I was told the suction power is the same. One difference is the profile ... the DC07 tank is tall and skinny, while the DC14 tank is short and fat (which could influence storage decisions for some). The handle is still the same height.

Speaking of the handle, one of the biggest differences is the way the hose is pulled out of the handle. The DC14 is easier, but it's kind of hard to explain. There should be a demo on the Dyson website.

I believe the DC14 models will set you back about $50 more. I bought the red DC14 several months ago from Best Buy.

I can't really decide 'tween the red or purple. I was thinking the Animal had the rotating brush thing, which would be good for stairs.

Maybe the 14 is the way to go, on the Dyson site it mentions brush bar control, so you can turn off the beater brush. This would be good if we ger berber carpet (which the wife likes)
