Give them a break... There could be a wide variety of reasons as to why this happened. We're lucky to have companies like Arrow. I have the UK release. It's the exact same except for the rating logo on the outer sleeve.

Just glancing over it the description, it looks like the content is almost the same as the Arrow set. I'm curious if Well Go is licensing the same content as Arrow.

I'll wait until more specific details are posted, but looks like a good U.S. alternative than importing the Arrow set.

I don't understand. Why is the US version more desirable than the UK one?

It's usually more expensive to import a bluray from overseas.

I was able to get the Donnie Darko UK blu for about $28 shipped amazon . Given the US release is the 4 disc limited edtition and list priced at $49.99, i doubt highly it'll get lower than 30 by release day.

and if you shelled out for the UK version, you probably have a region free player and can play the disc so whats to complain about,

unless he's anal about packaging and doesn't want the 15 logo on his blu ray

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

ok so maybe I overreacted a little. But it would have been about 9 dollars cheaper from a retailer I go to in Canada. Also, I have a region free player, but I don't have a ton of stuff that isn't region 1 and I'd prefer to have as much region 1 stuff as possible so maybe when the day comes I won't have to buy 2 4k players. Also, yeah, the ratings sticker is somewhat aesthetically unpleasing, but not a dealbreaker by any means.

I dunno, it just seems like a dick move to announce these both a few months apart. Had I known, I would have still given them my business, but I would have bought the Region 1 version.

You assume that this was an intentional decision. It could be that they had trouble locking down the North American distribution rights.

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

I'm region free so it doesn't matter that I already bought it. I plan on selling my US release when it arrives. However, I find it hard to believe that they didn't know that they were going to be able to release it in the US before the UK version was actually released.

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

I want to say Fox still owns rights here as they released the last blu in 2009. Or maybe Arrow wanted to see how many copies they sold to US customers

~$41 (Priority Shipped) from DiabolikDVD.

I usually go to go them for sets like this as they package their items well and know they sell to a lot of folks with OCD

Holy shit, are they doing Caltiki? It's not as good as having the Lucas Dark Skies commentary back, but it's goddamn close.

Stock Update for the Hellraiser: Scarlet Box (US)

Hellraiser: The Scarlet Box has now sold out via Amazon.com! The set is still available with some e-tailers in the States however supplies are low so if you were planning to grab yourself a copy we would urge you to track one down soon. Happy shopping!

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

I imported the UK Darko in the stripped down version. I lose the nice book, but didn't want the two coasters that came with the Deluxe Edition. I haven't seen that version announced for the US, but it may yet be in the pipeline.

Pre-ordered Brain Damage immediately. I've been wanting it to get this sort of treatment for a long time.

Arrow's planning a standard box set, right? I've held off on this because I didn't want to pay for the book and extra disc. (and I heard the current box is shaped kinda oddly)
