Everything I've read about LA Wars has said its absolutely shit but I'm guessing that's why people love it.

Can’t wait for this one. Sounds like a winner in the bonus dept. I think this was the first movie that showed me a sad ending and not happy, tied in a bow. I really love this movie.

Who the hell is Vince Murdoco anyway? I remember back in the 90s shit from production companies like PM Entertainment would try to make these stunt men or doubles as action star leads, The vast majority were horrible actors.

Re: MVD, Synapse, and Blue Underground Releases Masterthread
Exactly! Although in fairness, PM Entertainment made up for their cardboard (or has-been) leading men with fast-paced action movie plots and spectacular vehicular stuntwork and pyrotechnics. Their output hasn't been well-represented on physical media since the days of VHS. Some titles made it to DVD, but I don't think many have been put on Blu-ray at all. And a lot of them are better than the 'action' movies that boutique labels like VS do choose to release (like Don Wilson or Billy Blanks pictures). The PM catalog would be ideal for a company like MVD.

Speaking of PM Entertainment, I believe their HQ was located in a building/highrise that overlooked a tow yard in Tujunga (or Sunland?). My car was towed 20+ years ago and that's where I had to go to get it and I noticed the giant PM logo marquee on this building.

Wonder if they got their stunt car stock from there. By chance did your car come back looking like it barrel-rolled through an exploding tanker truck?

The Last American Virgin…this really looked great and the interviews are not to be missed. This is a gem I’ve always loved. Now, looks great and still feel Gary’s pain. Great flick.

My copy of Crocodile has shipped. I just hope this is at least 25% as good and entertaining as Alligator, lol.
Other than watching part of a trailer prior to buying this is a blind buy for me.

On MVDs Facebook page they just teased they will be releasing a new edition of Joysticks. They'll have an official announcement this week. I've watched the movie off of Tubi and it's a fun flick.

I am not a big fan of Joysticks (I prefer Pinball Summer aka Pick-Up Summer [1980]) but I may just buy it for that awesome looking slip. And I usually don't give two shits about that sort of thing.

COMING 2/20/24... Returning to Blu-ray... MVD Rewind Collection #58 - Joysticks (Special Edition)
MORE FUN THAN GAMES!
There’s something going on at the local video arcade – something totally insane, outrageously hilarious, very sexy and thoroughly entertaining; the hit film JOY STICKS!
This antic romp begins when “The Video Arcade’s” newest employee, Eugene (Leif Green, Grease 2) arrives pantless for his first day on the job. Teenage heartthrob Jeff (Scott McGuinnis, Secret Admirer), who runs the arcade and Dorfus (Jim Greenleaf, Liar’s Moon), the slovenly video game addict, decide to take revenge on the vivacious Alva (Kym Malin, Weird Science) and Lola for tricking Eugene out of his pants with a wild game of “strip video.” But before they can act, King Vidiot (Jon Gries, Napoleon Dynamite) and his sexy troupe of high-tech video addicts invade the arcade and pandemonium breaks loose. In the midst of the chaos, Joseph Rutter (Joe Don Baker, Fletch), an influential businessman, comes into the arcade looking for his daughter Patsy (Corinne Bohrer, Surf II). When he witnesses the madness around him, he vows to see the “den of juvenile delinquency” shut down for good!
Will the city council decide to close the arcade and spoil the kids’ fun? Or, will Jeff, Eugene and Dorfus manage to turn Rutter’s anger with a little help from Alva and Lola? It all comes together in a climatic and hilarious video game competition – with a winner-takes-all bet on the future of the video arcade in this early 80’s cult classic comedy produced and directed by Greydon Clark (Final Justice).

For "Hardware Wars" they are putting out a bluray of a Star Wars Parody that's only 13 mins? I guess it lists some other movie parodies so that might be worth a purchase.

Kinda keeping an eye out for this year's sale, too, as there are a few that have been released since last year's sale that I'd be tempted by, cheap.
This sort of thing has really started to bug me. Most 'fan' / podcaster / YouTuber commentaries are borderline excruciating, with enough research to better fill a video supplement, and I'm sure 'fans' who run DVD distribution outlets are no different. In fact, Heath Holland was whining and practically begging for this kind of opportunity on one of his "maybe this isn't worth it after all these years, and my wife hates all the free crap in the house" videos a while back. I've listened to enough to find that their 'value add' is often questionable at best. Seems like the other commentary and interview on the JOYSTICKS release is from previous editions, which is fine. I've heard Greydon Clark's commentary on an earlier DVD release and like many of his it's got a lot of dead space, but you can still get what you need to know about the film without fans weighing in. And there are cast and crew from this film who are still alive (aside from Joe Don, who's pushing 90) and probably had the time to sit for interviews, but no.
NEW! Fan commentary featuring MVD Rewind Collection's Eric D. Wilkinson, Cereal at Midnight host Heath Holland and Diabolik DVD's Jesse Nelson
