Received mine today from CAV (ordered 9/18).
Didn't realize it was coming with an O Card.
To answer my own question- it came inside a bubble wrap pocket inside a cardboard box, which pretty much how I remember the Phenomena steel coming last year.

For as contentious as Blu Ray collectors are( especially when it comes to something thats been delayed for 4 fucking years), this seems to be an almost universal success. Everyone is saying how amazing it looks. Mine should arrive before the weekend, and I'm setting up 4K tv tomorrow. I know whats getting the first spin.

Got mine today! The packaging is beautiful. Unfortunately I'm going out of town for the next week so I won't have the chance to watch it any time soon.

Haven't watched it again yet, so I honestly don't know whether I made a wise purchase or not.
For a long time now I've wanted to see what all it's fans and admirers see in it. Something that eluded me on a first viewing years back.
I've followed the odyssey of Don working on this for years now. I know he had a passion for the film and he took his time working on 'getting it right' like any true craftsman. It's exciting and a bit of a privilege to support an effort like that.
But whether I end up finally digging it or not, I just wanted to say how substantial this package feels even simply holding it in your hands. With 3 discs, plus the steel, plus the O card there is a heaviness and solidity to it that is impressive. $50 is a sizable chunk of dough, yet I'm wishing all of my favorite films could have received this kind of TLC and treatment. I would absolutely reorganize my budget around picking up 3 or 4 editions like this per year versus buying a lot of 'on sale' filler just to have new stuff to watch.

Customer Service has been great on this release. My Slipcover came with a whole lot of boxcutter/razor cuts all over it, so I'm getting a replacement sent in the mail.
Saw the 4K Restoration in theaters a few months ago, so I'm hoping for more of the same mind-blowing quality

Caps-a-holic just added the Synapse Bd to it's comparisons.
I was wrong about the AB DVD looking overly similar to the new Bd. There is, in some cases, a HUGE difference in how colorful the new edition is.
Still haven't gotten around to spinning it yet- but I did sample the first few minutes with the 4.0 track.
The picture is gorgeous but was really knocked me back in my chair was the audio. UN-FREAKING-REAL.

I'll get the two disc when the price drops a bit. Hopefully for Halloween.
