That UHD/BD/3DBD is what should have been released here.

Picked up the BB steelbook today. I ordered it last night just to make sure. When I went to pick it up they had about 15 of the Superman steelbooks on the shelf. The ones with Batman were completely sold out. Good thing I ordered ahead of time.

I'm guessing you haven't opened it yet. Unless you are making a joke?

Picked up the standard release at my local BB today. At around 2pm there were only 2 Superman Steelbooks on the shelves as well as the New Release section.

Re: Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice - 7/19

Decided to pick up the Target edition of this last night. Mostly because I was interested in seeing the ultimate cut of the film and because I have the Target exclusive for Man of Steel so I wanted this one to match. My Target had quite a few of the exclusive version still left when I went. I'll probably re-watch the film tonight and see if the new cut is any better.

Re: Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice - 7/19

Really enjoy the extra 30 min in the movie, really did fill in some gaps.

Best gap filler was showing Superman helping people after the explosion, instead of just showing him fly off.

Extras were good to OK for long time fans of DC, learned a bit more about Supes, Bats, WW and Lex...but knew a ton of their history already.

Video was excellent, you can tell when the IMAX scenes were being shown, very clear.

Picked up the target edition today. Are there 2 versions of this? The only ones they had left had Superman as the main pic then when moves its bats. Is there a main Batman one? Really hate seeing superman unless you move it.

Was it just me or the Batman Steelbook Version in Best Buy was Sold Out compare to the Superman Steelbook Version?

Surprised that you would be so eager to pay full price for something you spend so much time shitting on. You could have just gotten a digital copy for $5 if you were only curious about the extended cut.

You know he's buying both and will leave them in the shrinkwrap, never to discover that they are in fact the exact same case with reversible art.

Anyone check out the 3D version yet? I haven't seen any reviews so far.

I liked some aspects of the film despite not entirely liking it and was probably going to get it eventually anyways. I wanted the Target version to match the Man of Steel Blu-ray I already have and if I had waited it likely would have sold out.

Re: Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice - 7/19

I already said in the review thread that I didn't hate it. There are definitely things about it I hate though. Of course I forget that people get hurt feelings if praise isn't heaped on something they like. I think it takes criticism to make something better often times and I feel like Warner has somewhat learned from this film for future films.

Re: Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice - 7/19

I bought the BD and was going through some of the extras last night and while they have some cool content in it, I wish they would have produced a more comprehensive documentary like what they did for the Superman Returns DVD/BD. That documentary was well over 2 1/2 hours long from what I recall and covered every little detail of the production of the movie.

But, I recall someone mentioning in one of these threads that the studios can't really make those kinds of documentaries anymore without paying the cast to participate.

Couldn't they just put wording in the contract with these actors for participation in documentaries and such? How does it work for press for a movie? Are cast members compensated separately for that or is it part of their agreement to make the actual film?

Promotional featurettes (15 minutes or less) are required by the studio for actors to participate in for free as part of promoting the film they are under contract for.

Re: Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice - 7/19

While we're talking about the special features, it was a thrill to see that WB hasn't abandoned the featurettes that dive into the original source material (The actual comic books) That Wonder Woman featurette was very nicely done. With the timeline, interviews with the comic artists and the representation of the 70s TV show!

Anyone know the reason why Marvel BDs don't do this anymore? Is Disney not allowed to talk about (Or show) the Marvel comics?
