I'll be waiting for a used copy or maybe a Black Friday deal.

Exclusive commentary and deleted scenes? Disney can go to hell.
|
Ah, Disney, and to think, I thought the market no longer supported double-dipping. To my credit, I didn't buy the first one, so I could at least not get gouged if I bought this one. Does it include the actual Star Wars trilogy from 1977, 1980, and 1983? Nope midst think so. So still no thanks. Let me know if those ever come out. I'll pay any goddamn price for those.

Let me hazard a guess here... This set won't carry over any of the special features from the previous release, as is the custom for Star Wars releases.
And then, after IX is released in a regular edition and a later 3D editon, we'll get a complete saga set with even more exclusive content. BOHICA! |

"Classic extras" meaning from the April release...
|
Re: Star Wars: The Force Awakens - April 5th, 2016
I hope it at least doesn't have any of the new features only on the 3D disc, so I can buy this and sell off that disc since I don't have 3D and just want the new features. FTR, The Scavenger and the Stormtrooper and Inside the Armory were the digital Target exclusive features.

Preorder is up on Amazon. I'm sure it won't end up at $50, but I am curious to see how much at release. I'm guessing $34.99 on release week.

Just looking at the disc art, it looks like the same DVD from the old set, but the other two discs have new art. (The old blu-ray movie disc had the Falcon flying over Jakku, and the script reading on the bonus features disc.) |

I didn't see anything referencing "classic extras" listed; didn't watch the video, though.
Classic Bonus Features – These offerings from the April release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens include the complete story behind the making of the film, an unforgettable cast table read, insights from legendary composer John Williams, and deleted scenes, as well as features that dig deeper into the creation of new characters such as BB-8, the design of the climactic lightsaber battle between Rey and Kylo Ren, the film’s remarkable digital artistry, and the Star Wars: Force for Change global aid initiative. |
