Now there is a new bundle that includes the recent TV event. Still doesn't mention the movies though.

Mulder and Scully meet the Were Monster was probably the best episode of the 6 episode run. Very cool to see that Duchovny and Anderson recorded a commentary track with Morgan on it.
I'll probably get the Event series when it drops below $20.
$30 is kind of expensive for just 6 episodes.

Somehow there was $5 Amazon gift card in my account - I don't know what I did to receive it but I used to get season 2 for $9.99 with the GC.
I'll now have just seasons 1 & 2 on BD.

Is "Season X" the half-hour special that aired on the Fox Network?

I should email 20th Century Fox and complain they put this on Blu-ray because DVD is so popular with them and obviously their preferred format.

I snagged Seasons 2-6 at Target for $7.50 each during their 50% off television sale. I then grabbed a pristine used copy of the first season at a local reseller for $8.99. So far. I'm into it for about $47—a fraction of buying a big unwieldy box of all the seasons.

I still needs to buy Season 9. Already have the exchanged discs for 8. Pre-ordered the Season 10 event Mini-Series. Kept the DVDs cause I'm assuming they're keeping the 4:3 broadcast OAR. Oh hells bells.

Pre-ordered The X-Files: The Event Series, arrived sans slipcover even though according to DVD Profiler, it originally came with one. Did they just decide to ship out the first 50 with slipcovers or something? I assumed pre-orders would ship out with all the bells and whistles. Studios are getting mighty miserly with their slipcovers these days.

No slipcover with mine that I ordered from Best Buy.

DVD Profiler is likely wrong. I see no evidence of s slipcover existing for the Event series or any of the other X-Files seasons.

You must be right, I see someone at Invelos is contributing a correction to the profile in that regard.

Individual seasons are $11.99 at Best Buy today (DotD), and Amazon has price-matched.

Re: X-Files Collector's Box Set - 12/8/15
Good Grief....my wallet can't take much more of this! After dropping a wad of cash during the Barnes & Noble sale this past week my wallet is like an echo chamber! I picked up seasons 2-6 for $7.50 during the Target 50% television series sale a few months ago and the first season used. I need to grab seasons 7,8, 9, the movies and the miniseries before I revisit the show. What to do...

Tempting, but likely cheaper during a Fox Connect sale in the near future. Especially if you have to pay tax at BB and Amazon like I do.

No, it's actually a multi-part documentary that covers each episode (briefly) and the revival as a whole, with input from most of the key cast and crew members. About 80 minutes total. Much better than I thought it would be!
