$19.99 and one disc?

Looks like we won't be getting the same contents as the 3-disc UK SE.

Restoration Comparison, "The Music of 'The Wicker Man'", "Worshipping 'The Wicker Man'", Interview with Director Robin Hardy.
No mention of the 49 minute "Burnt Offering: The Cult of the Wicker Man" documentary?

Where does it say that it's only one disc?

Doesn't specifically; the blu-ray.com page for it didn't have it listed as a two-disc where they usually do, and the $19.99 price point.

But I don't think they've released any kind of specs for the set at all; closer inspection of the walmart page shows a runtime of 88 minutes, which is the theatrical cut. Looks like walmart just plugged in info from the old DVD.

So, as of now, it could be anything from the 2-disc UK SE (we probably won't get the third disc, the soundtrack CD) to a single barebones disc.

I don't think the US will get more than one disc for this film. Prepare to import it from the UK if you want all of their extra features.

Re: The Wicker Man: The Final Cut

I just imported the UK SteelBook and all I got was the final cut plus a lousy DVD.

The UK SE has "The Final Cut" and most of the special features on the first blu-ray, and the two previously released cuts along with the old commentary on the second blu-ray.

I'd be content with the "Final Cut" blu-ray with all of the special features since I already have the limited edition wood box and the 2-disc SE (with commentary).

Got my slip cover version from Amazon UK. Very nice set! 2 BDs and a CD.

^ That's the one I think I'll be getting, but the price is way too high right now.

Yeah, it did jump. I think I paid $30ish but I got in early.

The steelbook looked cool, but I heard it dropped the second BD disc? WTF?

Yeah, I lost out on the second disc. I'll wait and see if it drops back down into the $30-ish range, but $45 US is a bit steep. Hopefully I won't be waiting long.

Re: The Wicker Man: The Final Cut

I would love it if they made the soundtrack available with a version of the US release. I almost bought it the other day but decided to hold off to see what they do with the upcoming BD release.

Re: The Wicker Man: The Final Cut

For us few that got the steelbook from Zavvi... I just got an email from them. They apologized about the 3 disc blunder, that we only got 2 discs. They said they are in contact with the studio and are arranging to have the 3rd disc sent. Good news, but I got it 1 day late as I ordered the 3 disc set from Amazon UK since it dropped in price.

Re: The Wicker Man: The Final Cut

My copy just came in the mail, I just put it in to watch. The packaging is terrible - no slipcover like I thought there would be, super flimsy eco-case, no disc artwork at all, tons of trailers you have to fast forward to in order to get to the menu... I guess we've really been spoiled on cult horror from Shout Factory and Blue Underground, huh?

So what are the contents? 1 disc? 2 disc? 1 cut? 2 cuts? Lol, any info is appreciated.

Re: The Wicker Man: The Final Cut

One disc. One cut. Video quality is pretty good, nothing incredible though. Probably because of the print itself. Closeups are very nice but there are a ton of wide shots that don't always look especially sharp. You can still definitely tell the difference between the extra footage and the stuff that's always been around. The colors are very saturated and yellow. I can't really comment on the audio since I don't have a fancy stereo setup. I watched part of one of the extras - "Worshiping the Wicker Man". Pretty boring stuff. Just a bunch of film makers talking about how much they like the film. I dunno, it's not a terrible release but it feels underwhelming. They could have done a lot more with it. I guess we're lucky we're getting it at all though.

Re: The Wicker Man: The Final Cut

I don't know for sure, but someone on blu-ray.com was saying something about how they thought that if you owned the 2-disc anchor bay DVD and the american blu-ray that there wasn't really any reason to get the UK set.
