I usually watch the series and movie every October going back to the VHS days but decided to start early and watched it last month. I will probably still watch it again in October because I love it so much. I guess I am one of the few who likes the pine weasel, Civil War bit and little Nicky and other side plots because I like the characters.

On my PS3 there are no sync issues but on every other BD player I have tried episode 9 and the Missing Pieces look like a Godzilla movie.

I agree with everything you said except for the Diane Keaton comment.

Her episode is DEFINITELY the worst.

The sync issues make me sad. Even sadder CBS won't address it.

Yeah, I was trying to be nice about Keaton's episode. It's like it was made by someone who never actually watched the show, but was told that it's "quirky for the sake of being quirky." It stuck out like a sore thumb, at least to me.

It really is a shame about the sync issues. CBS can just blame it on peoples' hardware, but something's up with the discs themselves. Maybe it's because there's too many audio tracks to choose from, pushing players to their limits (as I recall, since audio can be swapped on-the-fly, all tracks combined are using the audio bandwidth of the disc). It's totally ridiculous that there's so many dubs in this set, where subtitles would have been far more efficient and effective.

I might have to stick the discs in my PC and umm... 'play' with them a bit...

It's currently $49 on Amazon while the 10-disc set is $83. I won't be buying it either way, but if I were, I'd have a hard time spending $34 for an extra bonus disc.

I bought the ten discer last year at Barnes and Noble on Black Friday for about fifty bucks.

It was, like $130 (minus 40% discount) (minus 30% coupon) (minus 10% from my friend's member card).

Maybe they'll have the same sales this year if anyone wants to wait...

Why So Blu?

All you guys had to do was snag it a few weeks ago from Amazon UK for $26-$27 shipped. It's also region free. That was the complete set including the 10th disc.

Currently, yes...but that 10-disc set has sold for a lot less.

I would assume that Paramount is not going to go back to print on the special packaging of the first set. It's weird that they would release this new one while the old one was still out there, but give it a year and the 9 disc will probably be all that is available. Why they can't include the 10th disc, I'll never understand.

I've meant to pick this up but have been waiting for a price drop. Still have my Gold Box and the separate release of Fire Walk With Me so I haven't been in a huge rush.
