I was more excited by Casino Royale, but I didn't have the same compulsion to re-watch it that I have with Skyfall.

I agree as well. Very well made Bond film but Casino Royale still wins out IMO.

Can anyone post a shot of the pricetag? I'm buying it at Best Buy and it would make the $1 PM super easy. Thanks!

I think it looks fine, just the color is white while the others are black.

Also, I'm kind of surprised there isn't any kind of music video for the Adele song.

Grabbed one at WalMart this morning for $18.96 and watched the first hour before work. The A/V is outstanding!

I can't believe there aren't any store exclusives in the US. A major release like this, and nothin... I may just wait. I don't need to own this right away... I'm sure it will hit $15 soon enough, and $10 around BF...

This Bond will be hard to beat in the video department considering Roger Deakins was the DP. There are some gorgeous shots in this film. This may keep the crown forever as the best looking Bond movie.

I ran over to Walmart on my lunch to pick it up and there wasn't any signage indicating it was $18.96. All I saw were the shelf tags which showed the usual price of $24.96, but it did ring up correctly.

No worries. Thanks though!

I actually saw this in theaters last weekend and at one point was struck by how good it looked.

I enjoyed it very much but didn't think it was like BEST BOND EVAH. And having just spent $30 on admission for it, I'm going to hold off on the BD for now.

The A/V on this is absolutely reference. It perfectly reproduces the theatrical experience. Also the Sam Mendes commentary is an absolute treasure trove.

Re: Skyfall (early 2013, possibly 3/12/13)

Just got my copy in the mail today from Amazon.

I used some GC's from Amazon that I got from trading in some DVDs and dumping some coins at Coinstar.

One of the posters said this is the weakest edition in the extras department for the Bond series. I firmly disagree. At least we're getting 2 commentary tracks in addition to the featurettes. Quantum of Solace was the worst when it came to extras with pretty much fluff featurettes, no commentary and nothing of substance.

Fantastic blu ray. The picture quality is stunning - absolutely gorgeous, and with this movie there is a LOT to look at.

Skyfall is a Must Have Blu Ray.

And I don't even care that I paid $1.00 more to get it at Best Buy today instead of waiting to get it at Walmart. It was worth the $19.99 that I paid. This one is going to get a lot of viewing time over the next 20 years...

I don't think an official video exists. All I could find was the lyric video.

Re: Skyfall (early 2013, possibly 3/12/13)

The opening credits are essentially a music video, just without Adele appearing.

I look forward to watching it again this week (via the library) or in a few weeks from Redbox and will definitely pick up the Blu when there's a price drop several months from now.

Watching it again, I'm surprised that I forgot how great the first 2 acts were. The 3rd, Home Alone, act is so bad, it made me forget what came before and finished the movie with a bad taste in my mouth.

Watched it last night and loved it. Video and audio are reference quality... this will be my new go-to disc to show off the home theater.

There was an official video somewhere, I recall watching it on my 360. I don't remember which service it was though, Muzu.tv or VEVO had an exclusive before the movie came out.

I thought it fell appart once Bardem showed up. The actual character was rather lame considering all the buildup until his first appearance. I also didn't care for his unbelieveably perfectly-timed plans that accounted for any possible random occurence and would make Jigsaw (or Anson from Burn Notice) green with envy.

Still, like you, I really enjoyed the earlier portions of the film (Bond's newfound immortality notwithstanding).

Well, his shootout in the courtroom didn't go according to plans, but yeah, his capture/escape were pretty silly, even by Bond standards.

Got it yesterday. Totally forgot Fox (ugh) was distributing this. They still have the crappy digital copy code app thing for itunes that never works like with Prometheus. Thankfully the UV code works.

I like Adele and all but the skyfall song is overrated.

I was a little disappointed with the track myself. I was very excited when it was announced that Adele was doing the song but it didn't live up to what it could have been in my opinion.

Re: Skyfall (early 2013, possibly 3/12/13)

BTW, I hate the way this disc has been coded. I can usually skip all the ratings and FBI warning screen nonsense when I start a movie on it's 2nd chapter and skip back to the first, as those screens run when you just hit play. Not so on this disc; they throw those bullshit screens at you regardless of the chapter you start at. And they wonder why bootlegging is so rampant.

I think it's a lock to win the Oscar for Best Song.
