Skyfall (early 2013, possibly 3/12/13)
Pre-order already up as well as artwork. Not sure if its temporary or not. Listed at $27.99 on Amazon as of now. No release date yet, but just read on digitalbits they're estimating 3/12/13.

Not my favourite Bond movie but definitely a day one purchase nonetheless.

With thousands of people picking up the Bond 50 Collection, I hope Skyfall is offered in a disposable cardboard package for those who will be putting it into the book slot. Otherwise; it's a lot of plastic cases being wasted. Of course, it should also come in a plastic Blu case for those who bought the movies separately.

I liked this one a lot so will definitely get it. I'm not the biggest fan of the theatrical poster and would rather the teaser be used for the art but whatever I guess.
Meh. Even if you want to put it in your Bond 50 set an extra case is always nice to have in case you've got a broken one or something.

I will seriously fall out of my seat if MGM/FOX makes it a 2-disc set.I hope it's jam packed with extras including a commentary by Mendes. The extras on Quantum of Solace sucked.

I don't know why I care, I only have the Brosnan's and the Craigs, but I've never understood why they don't just release sets like this:
1. Dr. No (1962-Sean Connery)
2. From Russia With Love (1963-Sean Connery)
3. Goldfinger (1964-Sean Connery)
4. Thunderball (1965-Sean Connery)
5. You Only Live Twice (1967-Sean Connery)
6. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969-George Lazenby)
7. Diamonds Are Forever (1971-Sean Connery)
8. Never Say Never Again (1983-Sean Connery)
1. Live and Let Die (1973-Roger Moore)
2. The Man with the Golden Gun (1974-Roger Moore)
3. The Spy Who Loved Me (1977-Roger Moore)
4. Moonraker (1979-Roger Moore)
5. For Your Eyes Only (1981-Roger Moore)
6. Octopussy (1983-Roger Moore)
7. A View to a Kill (1985-Roger Moore)
1. The Living Daylights (1987-Timothy Dalton)
2. Licence to Kill (1989-Timothy Dalton)
3. GoldenEye (1995-Pierce Brosnan)
4. Tomorrow Never Dies (1997-Pierce Brosnan)
5. The World is Not Enough (1999-Pierce Brosnan)
6. Die Another Day (2002-Pierce Brosnan)
And then the five Daniel Craig movies. Seems that would be easier than all this mixing and matching.
Also, I hope they release a nice DVD with black packaging to match my Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace DVDs.

Re: Skyfall (early 2013, possibly 3/12/13)
MGM mixes and matches the Bond movies in order to entice people to buy titles that they might otherwise pass over. How else do you expect them to sell A View to a Kill unless they bundle it with another movie that people actually want, like Goldfinger?
That's really at the whim of the producers, MGM's finances, market conditions, and countless other factors. Timothy Dalton was contracted for more Bond movies after Licence to Kill, but that obviously never happened. Brosnan actively petitioned to do another, more serious-minded Bond film to make up for Die Another Day. That wasn't in the cards for him either.
Personally, I don't have a problem with this. The box set is clearly labeled as collecting the first 50 years of the franchise.
Isn't Craig on board for a total of five movies?
Even after slotting Skyfall into the big box, you're still likely to have this other two sitting on the shelf beside it.

I saw it on the Xbox 360 with a free 14 day trial when it aired last month. That was a really solid documentary.

Re: Skyfall (early 2013, possibly 3/12/13)
My guess is because it's intended to fit into the Bond 50 set. Having a disc with little-to-no bonus features in that set would kinda suck (even if it wouldn't be unheard of).

Wow. Two commentary tracks! We had to wait for the double-dip just to get one commentary on Casino Royale and there's still not one for Quantum of Solace - which remains the most disappointing Bond home video release of the disc era.

I think Casino had two commentaries on the second release, the director on one and various crew for the second.

Re: Skyfall (early 2013, possibly 3/12/13)
It did, but there were none on the first edition which is why I found it so noteworthy that there would be any commentary at all on this initial release of Skyfall. Bond DVDs used to be top of the line as far as packing in bonus content, until Casino Royale's very deliberate double-dipping scheme. Hopefully, this portends that future new 007 Blus will be more like the Special Edition DVDs of yore.

Looks like a really solid release and I'm pleased to see MGM put out some good extras considering what a turd the QOS BD/DVD release was.Picking it up week 1 for sure and sliding that disc into my Bond 50 set.
