Re: The Dark Knight Rises - Blu-ray + DVD + UV Digital Copy (Dec 07, 2012)
Sometime in 2013, WB is supposed to release "The Dark Knight Trilogy Ultimate Collector's Edition". I think this is mentioned in the press release about the transfer: For the IMAX portions of the film, running approximately a full hour when combined, Warner has created a "marriage of IMAX and 35mm formats by using the hybrid master to replicate the unique theatrical experience of integrated film formats."

Yeah. Sounds like what Rocshemp is saying. Which is great. We really need news on TDK.

US release for the limited edition. Looks pretty much exactly like the UK one.

Of course the only thing I'm really interested in is that supposed longer cut on DVD so what the hell do I know? |

I hate paying extra for stuff like this but I really like the look of it. Don't know if I should just wait and see if I get lucky as an eventual clearance item or go ahead and pick it up.

Did we ever find out wtf it exactly is? Length, quality, etc?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises - Blu-ray + DVD + UV Digital Copy (Dec 07, 2012)
I really should stop doing pre-orders with Amazon, since store exclusives are becoming more rampant then ever.

US trilogy via comingsoon.net
Spoiler:
Also available December 4, just in time for holiday gift-giving, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will release “The Dark Knight Trilogy Limited Edition Giftset,” featuring “Batman Begins,” “The Dark Knight” and “The Dark Knight Rises” all in one collection. Available on Blu-ray or standard definition DVD, “The Dark Knight Trilogy Limited Edition Giftset” will also include a premium book exclusive to the collection, which takes fans deeper into the epic franchise, as well as existing special features. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment also plans to release “The Dark Knight Trilogy Ultimate Collector’s Edition” in 2013. |
Re: The Dark Knight Rises - Blu-ray + DVD + UV Digital Copy (Dec 07, 2012)
soooo nothing yet if we got a new TDK transfer. Also...that's a horrible image they're using for the trilogy set.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises - Blu-ray + DVD + UV Digital Copy (Dec 07, 2012)
The image doesn't show for me but I looked it up. The cover art for the trilogy set isn't as good for the US version as it is on the UK one if you ask me.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises - Blu-ray + DVD + UV Digital Copy (Dec 07, 2012)
I'm wondering what'll be included in that Ultimate Collector's Edition, if it's just the 3 movies with that Best Buy exclusive doc packaged in with them or if we'll see a lot more additional material not in the original releases.

Also, I'm pretty sure that Christopher Nolan has blown off complaints about the existing Blu-ray. Unless he pressures the studio for a new master, it's unlikely to happen. This is not something you should hold your breath over. |
Re: The Dark Knight Rises - Blu-ray + DVD + UV Digital Copy (Dec 07, 2012)
I guess I will pick up The Dark Knight Rises in December to complete my trilogy. And depending on what they do in the new Ultimate Edition set next year, I might have to double dip on that.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises - Blu-ray + DVD + UV Digital Copy (Dec 07, 2012)
Since most of their UCE sets are filled with trinkets and things I really don't need, I'll probably get the trilogy set for Xmas this year.

I like the Bane book one. Ever since I saw TDKR in theaters I walk like that with my hands clutching my...t-shirt.
