Likely the case. His thread was closed shortly after.
For someone who wasn't connected to Sony, he posted plenty of detailed information regarding the technical side of their restorations on certain titles, among other things. And did so over the course of several years. I'd like to know how he was verified as an Insider in the first place.

Re: Blu-ray.com
On Facebook, Blu-ray.com just confirmed that they are having technical difficulties and hoping to have the site back up soon.

What caused Crisp to post this, and why did it take 6 years?

Re: Blu-ray.com
It was essentially a pointed aside in a post responding to an editorial Penton had made which seemed, to Mr. Crisp, to imply that some comments Mr. Crisp had made publicly involved a somewhat less-than-generous opinion about a professional segment of the post-production industry. Mr. Crisp wanted to set the record straight that he intended his comments to be taken in no such way and, while admonishing Penton, took the opportunity to mention that there was no employer and no love lost between them.

Re: Blu-ray.com
For purely BD info, I prefer that forum. I can ignore the ridiculous stuff about transfers, too much DNR and slipcovers because they do tend to get postings about new releases before we do here and sales with Amazon and things like that.
But, unlike DVDtalk, I never go into a forum not related to BDs there. I use the TV forum quite a bit here, the sports forum a lot, and the movies and music fairly often, but mostly just to read for information rather than getting into discussions.

HD Talk here is very quiet compared to a few years ago. Most people go to blu-ray.com for any BD related news/discussion. They do have the best deal tracker for Amazon sales.

Re: Blu-ray.com
^ I use their deal tracker. It is great.
But I don't post over there because:
a) I'm loyal to this site.
b) The douche factor is a problem over there.
c) I'm a creature of habit - dvdtalk is like the local diner where you know everyone. Blu-ray.com is the McDonald's on the Interstate.
