Re: The Muppets 3/20/12

The BB I went to had no lunch boxes (there was a mom and her kid looking for one when I got there) and they only had one more of the "Wocka Wocka" edition as well. Seems they didn't get many or it sold extremely well.

Re: The Muppets 3/20/12

my BB had no Wocka Wocka or lunch box editions this morning. I was able to use the coupon, plus the metal case preorder on the standard combo for 12 bucks out the door today. I already have the soundtrack, so I am happy.

Now, YES. It basically is sold out now since they were limited to just so many of the lunchboxes per store. If you were not there yesterday, pretty safe to say you are out of luck getting from the store. I'm sure someone will come on and say they found one today, but they will definitely be the exception obviously.

Re: The Muppets 3/20/12

My best buy has 3-4 of the lunch box sets. but none of the regular Wakka Wakka set.

After Pre-order deposit, coupon, and reward zone, I only paid about $6. Even counting the deposit, its under $14 for a brand new Blu with a metalbox (ironpack...whatever) and a collectable lunchbox.

I'll probably ebay the lunch box though, as I have no use for it.... my Nightmare on Elm Street lunchbox is holding up just fine

Re: The Muppets 3/20/12

I ordered the gift set with the finger puppets from walmart.com. They shipped it in a padded envelope, and the box was crushed.

Fortunately, I had planned to toss the box anyway, give the finger puppets to my wife, and put the discs in the Best Buy metal case I picked up last week.

Re: The Muppets 3/20/12

That sucks. Walmart is so rich but they use padded envelopes to ship big packages?

Some people at Ebay are just selling the lunch box but removed the blu-ray discs.

I just want it for the nostalgia factor since I remember back in elementary school people use to bring Muppets lunch boxes to school.

Hit up a flea market or ebay and buy a vintage one(possibly with a thermos) vs. one with Jason Segel on it.

Re: The Muppets 3/20/12

Is anyone else having difficulties getting this damned movie to play? I have a Momitsu BDP-899 which I haven't firmware upgraded because I don't want to screw up my region free capabilities, but I have never had any problems with anything.

I'm now on my 2nd copy of this f'n title and it loads the Disney logo, it loads the language page, I select English. It loads the Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3 page and then nothing.

Help!

Re: The Muppets 3/20/12

After watching The Muppets at least four times since Tuesday. I can't figure out why Frank Oz didn't like the script, maybe he didn't like the idea of "The Moopets". I think Jim Henson would be very happy with the movie if he were alive today.

Re: The Muppets 3/20/12

I heard an interview with the director and he basically said Oz had issues with the first draft of the script when Segel and himself were still learning the unwritten rules of the Muppet universe. What he saw as disrespect was simply newcomers learning the ropes.

Oz also supposedly had is own script on the table which was rejected for this one. That was probably the biggest factor at play.

I didn't have a problem playing it on my Playstation 3 but my copy did seem to glitch in a few spots (the bottom half of the screen would get a white streak on it every so often). I'm thinking I just got a bad disc though and will exchange it out.

You know the old saying: the rich don't stay rich by spending money they don't have to

Watched most of this last night, and yeah, the disco duet was not very good. And Amy Adams looked noticeably heavier here than she did in her Enchanted days. Maybe it was from all the butter in Julie & Julia.

Segel and Stoller were working on the screenplay for nearly two years and continued to iron out the kinks right until filming started.

At the end of the day, I'd take The Muppets over anything the franchise has put out in the past twenty years.

Adams had a baby in 2010 and has said in interviews that she's not in any hurry to lose the pregnancy weight.

She did look "heavier" in this but I liked how she looked nonetheless.

If we're talking about the original Sony disc, it's really bad even by DVD standards. I watched it recently as well. It has serious edge enhancement and compression issues. The source elements are also swamped in heavy grain, like a multi-generation dupe print.

Re: The Muppets 3/20/12

Does anyone know when the Digital Copy expires from the Wocka Wocka Blu-ray set?

EDIT: Never mind. I found out on-line it expires 3/20/2014.
